Just watched The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker with the kids as I was their age when I first saw them.

Conclusions of my 8 and 10 year old.

Roger Moore can't act.
Roger Moore can't fight.
James Bond's attitude towards women isn't the best.
Jaws is the best thing in it.

Not sure which one to show them next.

Live and Let Die will probably put the willies up them...

(Still scared of snakes 30+ years on)

GoldenEye, because it's the best one.

See what they reckon to the camera work on Quantum of Solace too.
If they come up with 'unwatchable toss' then they've got a future as very decent film critics.

Quantum of Solace.... 'unwatchable toss'

If ever there has been a more accurate description of any film, ever, I haven’t seen it.

Oh please. They're how old?

Eight pages.

Everyone always slates Roger Moore but he was the bond of my childhood. This makes him the best.

Who's the current bond out of interest?

Thunderball, described as "dead smart" by one of my birthday party guests after a birthday cinema visit. (I would appear to be quite old).
Followed by The Italian Job (original Michael Caine version) for the ultimate dad and son afternoon.

Spectre with my 11 year old last night. My that's a long film with a very silly plot. Some good bits, but we agreed there's a good hour that could go. The train ride for one, along with the hotel bit.

The car chase in Spectre had so much potential and then they ruined it by filming it on completely closed traffic free streets and wrecking the Aston after 5 minutes of pointless sliding around. There were a couple of mildly amusing bits in it but otherwise a wasted opportunity.

Best car chase is the Lotus is Spy Who Loved Me although the 2CV chase in For Your Eyes Only is quite good just for being different.

Next you say... Surely that should be:
Goldfinger
Man with the golden gun
Live and let die
Diamonds are forever

Am I reading this right? You haven't shown them Goldfinger?

My daughter is 8.

"Why is she kissing him? She only met him just now and he's old and fat and he can't act."

Slut shaming and body shaming in one go? I think you better have a word with your daughter about what is acceptable behaviour in 2017.

I’ll offer this as a contender:

(Agree that QoS was a load of rowlocks - I’d read that Daniel Craig even contributed to the script due to the writer’s strike.)

Quantum of Solace gets bonus points for having inspired this though

The Living Daylights.

Dalton pisses all over Moore. Plus minimal cheese.

The Living Daylights.

This, followed by Licence to Kill.

Shame he's Welsh though, otherwise I would agree, the best Bond.

Skip the rest of the bonds and go straight into Kingsman - that'll give them something to talk about at school 🙂

rather jump straight into "London's Fallen" for up-to-date baddies.
