I've got a Seamaster and a Constellation etc. but this is the one I go for.
So it doesn't have to be a Swiss timepiece to groove your truffles.
Most of the £5k spent on an Omega goes to advertising, paying their ambassadors and staffing / lighting / renting the boutiques in airports and expensive shopping areas.
Oh well if you like a seiko GMT I’ve been wearing my snr051 pretty solidly. Although I’d probably go for the 033 if one had come along.

Mad to think I'm 46 this year and I've had this watch for half of that. It can tell a few stories.
Erika's Original straps are a bit spendy but much better than any generic NATO or similar.
Omegas are just ace aren't they.
I bought this lovely thing on August 8th 1992 from WoS in Manchester. And it's still going strong.

Unless one has genuine military provenance oneself I find this desire to wear regimental/ French navy unit colours a bit weird tbh.
Military spec generally means the cheapest option which hit the minimum requirements, it probably shouldn’t be used as any sort of guide to quality.
If you’d read the article, you’d know that the straps only come in that colour, because the material is sourced from parachute packs, and is a heavy-duty elastic, which is why the French navy divers adopted it - the watches were issued without a strap or bracelet. Do you actually believe that cheap, barely adequate materials would be used in manufacturing parachutes? Really? 🙄
Also, if you’d read further, then you’d have seen that the straps are available in black. As the NavyGraf was issued to the French Navy divers, and Yema actually sell the watch with an original spec strap made from original stock materials, then it’s an entirely appropriate combination.
If I was fitting one to another watch, then I’d choose plain black.

Well my Sub has just gone off to the nice man at Calibre for its regular 15 year service... The last one was at the official service centre in Mayfair. £600 of your British poonds but it needed a couple of minor bits. This one, Roly wanted £900, Calibre £450 so we'll see in a couple of weeks...

That's a good effort from your Rallygraf, but it (and it's movement) entirely predates the period when Yema was owned by Seiko and it's current ownership.
The article below, and the amount of stories reqarding poor quality and customer service was enough to make me walk away. Shame, as they are nice looking watches.

I don't foresee any problems. I've used Calibre a few times and they are good with communication, so no nasty surprises.

Balls balls balls. I've been ghosted again by the (not really a) seller of the zenith I thought (wrongly) I was going to buy. Why would someone do that really? It's not my watch it's theirs and if they change their mind that's fine. No, instead I've spent the last 2 months sending occasional messages asking for an update and a convenient time for me to drive 100 miles to them to view and buy the watch. Balls. There is another chronomaster sport on tz for sale now.... But it's the black dial and I want the white. I'll have to wait.

A white chronomaster is pretty much my grail GADA watch. Jnr was on a school trip to Japan recently, but Mrs K put the slammers on me sending a parcel to his hotel. You can buy them at a decent price on Chrono24.

I look at those a lot, mainly because I can't decide between the black dial and the textured grey dial but I'd never realised the blue was that shiny so now I'm wondering if the black is the same.

Thouroughly recommended, integrated FKM Seiko straps from Clockwork Republic. Have a look at the vids on the site, but integration, very soft rubber indeed and high quality with metal sleeves inside the straps for the spring bars to slot through. I bought one for my Samurai:

AT's are lovely. There is no debate to be had, get it bought!
I very nearly bought one of those a few years ago, lovely. I think the size is a bit big for my wrist though, so would probably go for the 38mm version now. Unfortunately the white 38 doesn't get the contrasting orange hand.

I have the 42mm manual-wind. I've put it on a Hirsch strap.
It's been really reliable and I love the look of it.

I'd say do it - an Aqua Terra is all the watch you'll ever need, in that it's dressy, WR 150m, very accurate with the newer METAS movements, has a decent power reserve etc. And ultimately, if you *want* it (ie leaving aside the rational side of it), there's very little reason not to!
If i can ask a little advice... Where in London can i get a new battery and service for a Seiko perpetual calendar with 100m water resist? Most jewellers tell me they can replace the battery but not guarantee it's re-sealed/ tested. I can post it to Seiko Maidenhead but £££... I'd rather drop it off somewhere myself.
I thought even timpsons can do a pressure check these days
