For you watch collectors/experts out there, where is best to get a watch serviced?
Cheers, Bal

Authorized dealer or chealwatches if the ad cost makes you baulk.

depends on the watch surely?

I'm getting a new movement fitted at the local watchmakers, but it's a 250 quid wedding present for work and not something super expensive.

It is actually not that hard to do yourself if you are patient and have some time.

No worries, I like playing with mechanical things - if it isn't a very valuable watch I would google around for a local independent. No point in taking into a high street jewellers, all they will do is send it off, takes ages and charge a premium.

There used to be lots on proper watch repairers on clerkenwell road ec1, not been there for a while they may have been priced out of the area now
