Trust me it's not easy to rank on the first page of Google it does take lots of time and effort to be number one and it dosen't happen over night. The first site I did was for a customer, a company called Expand their site is now ranked with pages 1-7 all the time for the keyword "male enhancement" the site is http://www.ExpandEnhancement.com I'm also working on another site, http://www.Ipod-Charger.com
The first thing is you need to write great content thats what Google's all about good content... and they know exactly how to find it!
You also need your site to be popular, you need to get your links out their coming from lots of different high page ranked websites just like this one... It's good to have a few hundred but do like 20 a day so you don't get in trouble for spam talk about a talent that you have thats related to the topic.
