You could go the Yorkshireman's route and grab some old Kitchen units and three scaffolding planks - worked for me. 😀

If you are a proper DIYer you'll make one yourself. Bought-in stuff is for wannabes.

I doubt it'll arrive ready assembled and the baldy guy won't come and do it for you

Some ikea/b&q kitchen cabinets and a worktop will go together just as quickly.

yeah, but that would look like some Ikea/b&q kitchen cabinets in a garage... whereas BigDug's stuff looks proper.

That would be great if you didn't actually own anything. In which event, why buy storage?

+1 for building it - even when you don't have the time.

My workbench (built over a weekend + since moved house with me):

Job lot of planed, 50mm x 25mm timber, a 3m length of cheap kitchen worktop, some 4mm plywood and fixings got me a solid L-shaped workbench & shelves for under £50. Plenty of room for a chunky vice, wheel jig and mountains of cr*p that inevitably get dumped in the garage.
*puffs chest out, grrrr*

a weekend ?

Yep. Bought the wood on the Sat. Built it on the Sun. By hand - as in no power tools.

Rebuilding it at the new house - with power tools - took 15 minutes.

Cripes! Thats absolutely IDENTICAL to the Bigdug one!

I thought so too. Why do you think I posted it?

I have tools and can do a bit of DIY. Here's my kitchen which I fit myself...and routed the sink out, biscuit jointed the tops, curved the breakfast bar (which sits on a 3x2 chassis with locking castors)

but I want a bit of a F1 pit look for my garage. White walls, painted floor, locking metal cabinets etc.

🙂

Not sure if ourmaninthenorth's bench would fit 😯
