Hey all - I'm looking to install one of these stoves in my hoose and to wallpaper the wall behind it. It is on natural gas so won't have the raging heat you might get with a wood burner (It's rated at 7kw. ). Does anyone think wallpapering behind is a bad idea? Concerned it might just not stick.

I don't think it'll work. Will just dry out and peel / curl.
That's a fair heat output, and even given its a gas fuel, the heat will affect nearby furnishings.
e.g. I expect it'll have a safe distance for combustible materials (wooden mantle &c) - paper might be classed similarly.

As in other kind of related thread, combustible materials need to be about 600mm away from the stove (I think) ๐Ÿ™‚

There's a pdf document for the safety distances for combustible materials for each Jotul stove on the site. The side distance on mine is 700mm which meant cutting and shutting a kitchen cupboard to comply.

You can fit a piece of vermiculite board, or metal sheet, between the wall and the stove and it you can then put the stove 50mm from the board (needs to be a spacer between the board and wall).
You can paint the board with heat resistant spray if you like.
