I've removed a chimney breast, leaving a single wall skin at the back, I need to add the second skin back in as photo

How far apart should the starter kits be generally? I need to do the second floor as well so just judging how many to buy

No idea I'm afraid, but I'm loving your optimism in having the paint ready to go 😉

Er, I'm no structural engineer, but if the breasts are removed, have you got rid of the stack or is there something supporting it?

I'd be looking at using starter ties, which are intended for tying in a new skin, rather than wall starters which are intended for a new wall as 90º. Ties will give you a lot more flexibility in where you put them.

Building regs approved doc A says 900mm horizontally and 450mm vertically, or 2.5 ties per square metre.

@tthew - yeah, stacks gone.

@Greybeard - these? they are all I've really been able to find that look like they'll do the job, although yeah, they're more suited for running off at 90, thanks for the dims, Building control has been to inspect post removal but didn't really say much about placement.

I went with Bluebird screw ties at the spacing mentioned above, worked a treat.

No, I was meaning something like this or this. Individual rather than in strips, it would give you a lot more flexibility as your wall isn't exactly regular.
