vw golf is due a service - any recommendations for where to go (stirling/alloa/dunfermline/falkirk).  The car is has done about 65K, and is six years old.  Would prefer to use a good independent, but will go to a dealer if it's worthwhile.

Any recommendations, please?

I've used Hunters in Linlithgow for years and they're VW Audi specialists, reasonably priced and not back street rip off merchants.

Strar Performance in Kirkaldy were excellent with a lot of experience and trained techs on all VAG group cars

JAG Auto's, Back O the Hill, Stirling

Brilliant garage - not the cheapest indy, but John and his gang are just great, clear and reliable. At service you also get a clear checklist of things like brake wear, tyres, and what else they think is wearing.

(I have also used D&G Auto's, who also did a good job, but JAG seem just much more professional.

I know it's a little out the way but PerformanceTek in Glasgow were my preferred option when I had my Honda, he does VAG and Mini work as well. Good rates and very good reputation.
