The carpet in the back of my Focus estate is minging. It seems to be saturated with some form of sticky, greasy stuff - possibly steering fluid.
It does come out and I was wondering what's the best way to get it clean? Should I hire a steam cleaner? Scrubbing brush and very hot water?
Any opinions gratefully considered.

Steam clean will be the only way.
Or get some heavy duty car fabric shampoo and give it a right good scrubbing, possibly even jet washing it as it'll dry in yer back-garden in this weather.
