Looking for a policy that offers social use and allows me to drive other vehicles but not having much luck. Any recommendations out there?
Cheers.

Try Adrian Flux, Camptons Insurance Brokers, and Insurance Choice.

They are all specialist insurers who may be able to cater for you.

National farmers union and co operative insurance services both do good deals on private van use.

Still no joy!! They cover you for social use but will not offer third party cover on another vehicle that you drive with the owners permission like most comp policies do.

Is it just one or two other vehicles? Could look into being added as a named driver on their existing policies...better really as you'd have fully comp cover if the car owner does.

I am named on my wifes and parents cars but there are times when it would have been very handy to drive a friend or twos car albeit third party as I could under a comp car policy but it seems you can't get this with a van policy even if it is non business social use.

I'm with privelege for my van insurace, and it covers social, commuting, business use and use of other vehicles - decent price per year too.

I wasn't aware that you can get 3rd party cover on other vehicles when only 3rd party on your own - maybe you need to move to comp, if for nothing than to get the extra cover for others.

For me on mine it was about £5 extra...
