Yeah yeah this old chestnut.

Recommend me some good companies will you please. I have let my no claims lapse so I know I'm looking at paying what I did as a teenager in that Nova SR but...

Got a quote from NFU 2 weeks ago for a 2008 VW Transporter 130bhp worth £11k and the premium was £870. Didn't buy then van. Got a quote today for a 2008 VW Transporter 102bhp worth £8k and the premium is £1150.

If you work for an insurance company do you have a big tombola with the prices for the day's customers set to tumble out at random??!!

Any ideas?

really? That is surprising. They have always beaten every quote for my van (when it was a standard panel van to a camper)

Yep. Tiger.co.uk want £1900.. I'm 30, not 19, I have let my ncb lapse over time. I haven't had an accident or forgotten how to drive. These robbing tosspots really get on my nerves.

Insurance Choice?

They don't us my no claims (for a camper) which is good as I have none. They base it on years license held, which is good 🙂

My insurance doubled for my van this year even though I still had no claims, points, etc for over 10 years!

When I spoke to them they said it had gone up a bit (hello - it's doubled) due to all the 'false claims' made.

pi$$es me off they put premiums up so they can keep paying out, rather than investigate false claims.

I think it's also because vans are popular at the moment too.

Anyway I'm with 'Yes insurance' now, who managed to get it in just below x2 as much.

Smaller van here, but got a good price from Aviva. Had a ring around when my renewal came last month, including Adrian Flux after recommendations off here, but they couldn't beat my renewal price so stuck with the current lot.
