Just had a fun night of smearing 2.5 lt of just about pigmented slop on a wall.
Absolute shite. Dulux won't be worried.
I bought some, then (fortunately) read the reviews before opening it. I returned it and exchanged for Dulux Easycare.
And yet I've just redone our living room with the stuff. Maybe I'm not enough of a connoisseur but it was just like any other paint I've ever used. It's wet, it makes the wall a different colour.
Your first mistake was buying paint from B&Q....
Trade centre, every time.
I should have known better with the 'recommended by Mumsnet' tagline

red paint? rag-rolled?
Painters are in?
I should have known better with the 'recommended by Mumsnet' tagline
Having been to B&Q this evening, the actual tagine is 'rated by Mumsnet'. Subtly ambiguous.....
I have never used the paint, but would like to know if it's any good?
Saw the thread title, and my immediate reaction was "that's shite" - glad to read I was right.
Had some recently, thought it went on lovely to be honest.

I don't get this. How are a bunch of angry man haters where at any one time, 25% of the content contribution are in mid-cycle, are anyway qualified to objectively assess paint viscosity?
Wanted Fired Earth 'dragons blood' as used before but B&Q no longer sell it hence getting some Valspar. It's a deep rich red-or should be, trouble is it doesn't have the pigment load to cover as well as Dulux and it kind of smears. Worst paint I've ever used.
The room also now smells of cat piss which is another googled complaint.
Just done our bathroom with Valspar paint. After donkeys years of using dulux, crown etc. I'd buy valspar again. Covered really well and is very easy to apply.
Used it in our dining room and bedroom. Went on easily enough, great coverage, nice colours and really tough. Much better than Dulux or Johnson's IMO.
Tried a tester, and also tried a Dulux one of a similar colour. The Valspar stuff was thin and smeary in comparison, and took three coats to get a decent colverage. Dulux went on first time.
WE bought the dulux from an online paint place - http://www.thepaintshed.com/ - who were brilliant
they're all overpriced but work OK generally IMHE . best paint I've used was a mix of various half full car boot sale tins. Farrow and Ball was worst + Dulux waterbased Diamond emulsion . awful to apply and poor finish + very expensive.
Too much bullxxxx with paints although super cheap stuff tends to be watery as expected.Oh ..and i get paid to put it on and haven't been indoctrinated by various course providers.
I have had mixed experiences with it. A green that went on fantastically well, and a white which has been utter crap. Trouble is, they have colours that I like for the front room........
have a ****ing word with yourselves boys. the period "jokes" on here are cringe worthy.
No wonder females feel alienated from this sport.
Returned for a full refund despite 'non refundable custom colour'
The store manager admitted they'd had other people coming back with issues with the 'bathroom' paint type we'd had problems with, the 'living room matt' we also bought was meant to be a lot better and they'd not had any returns.
We had some mixed earlier this year for my daughters bedroom. The colour was spot on to the wallpaper we were matching to.
We paid a bit extra for the more durable finish and it went on a lot better than the Little Green and Farrow & Ball stuff we've used in the 'posh' rooms.
I'd certainly use it again, and instead of premium paints.
I've always found Dulux a bit 'shiny'. We painted the lounge in a pale green once, and came down the next morning and you could see the glow from the room before we got to the bottom of the stairs - like something out of an alien film!
Guy I worked with returned some due to the paint rolling on in one direction and back off the wall in the other. His wife explained it more politely than he could to the store manager and they exchanged it for Dulux equivalent, no problems.
Good to see the dinosaurs out!

I'm embarrassed for you
Why?
