I have found myself in Newcastle for the evening - what's a girl (ok old girl) to do.

So far the suggestions have include barricade myself in my hotel room or try tinder . . . I was kind of thinking somewhere in between.

I want to eat but nice healthy food - and maybe something a bit interesting/art/music type thing to see or wander round. . . I've found the art cinema but just wondered what else is out there?

The Beast market. From what I remember you should be wearing your highest heels and smallest clothes. From there you need to go to the Tuxedo Princess. Have fun

It's years since the Tuxedo Princess was there!

Suggestions from my wife who is a young old girl - pop down to the quayside, see if the sage is open, maybe ride up and down the lifts in the Baltic, eat at Cafe Live or somewhere down there. Wander about in the evening sunshine now the rain has stopped.

Edit - that Long Play cafe that Stato mentioned in the thread above is really nice. Only went in there for the first time few weeks ago

City centre hotel?

If so just go around Monument area for food. Avoid that Oliver bloke chain restaurant coz it is over-hyped.

Like Merican burger then Byron at Monument or Five Guys at Northumberland street just 3 minutes from each other (newly opened few days ago). Yo Sushi is also 3 minutes in Monument.

If you are brave enough you can go to Tiger Tiger but might be a bit rough at night in that area coz everyone can be semi-naked.

Apart from Monument in the City centre there is not much else to see coz all the shops are roughly the same all over UK. I also would not recommend you to venture in the dark alleys ... plenty about in Newcastle.

You can still visit the quayside before the sunset but once sunset the werewolves, vampires and zombies will be roaming the streets so better avoid.

Take an early night sleep and rest ...

There is a slight problem that I came for a work event so have limited clothing options. Will go for a wander and hopefully not get had by the werewolves.

But yes right in the city so should be able to find something to do - although an early night may not be a bad idea (still recovering from the south lakes 100 jennride!)

Everything (safe) should be in the Monument area.

If you take one wrong turn (you will notice as the buildings become more run down, empty shop lots appearing etc) you will end up in Bigg Market where the norm is to shout for no reason and be semi-naked ... I mean drunk.

A simple description. If you are in Monument ... with your back turn to Jamie bloke restaurant, face facing Lord Grey's monument ... to your left is Five Guys, to the front left Byron, to the front right Yo Sushi, walk straight down from Grey's monument to the quayside and on your left and right some nice bars ... and if you walk straight down along the road you will reach the Quayside and if you walk back just follow that route. Try not to stray from the main path ... werewolves, vampires etc are lurking ...

You could have went to the Stand comedy club for 2 quid. Ten acts every Wednesday night. Sorry I'm a bit late..
