Recently had a vodaphone mobile unlocked to accept a three mobile sim card. Everything was ok for a couple of weeks then five days ago I had text saying 'your 3G sim will stop working in your 2G phone shortly' - and it has. Nstuck with a message asking for a restriction code..

Is this something I need to contact 3 mobile about or will they not be interested as it not a 3G phone. Not sure I can face a long drawn call to India.

Your comnents if you have any ?

Cheers

Oh, it's because your phone doesn't support 3g. 3 don't like that because they have to pay orange for all calls made on the 2g network. So, if they notice that someone is only connecting with a 2g phone, they lock your sim. It's on the stuff you read when you sign up, but probably isn't obvious to someone who doesn't know phones.

You need a new phone to use it on the 3 network.
