Why boot makers take a perfectly good leather boot and then line it with bloody foam and nylon I don't know.

Anyway I need boots that are like DMS but with a bonded on sole rather than stitched on. The leather on my DMS is waterproof but the water leaks through the sole.

Also the tongue needs to be a bellows type.

Finding unlined boots is proving to be a problem.

I was thinking this on the docs thread.

I had an old pair of army boots.

You could stand in puddles and nothing happened.

But they looked like boots not like the altbergs etc just a flattish non commando soled boot. They were ace.

Spent a long time researching boots a couple of seasons ago. It was between Lundhags Forest and Haglofs Barken. Ended up with the Haglofs as I could try them on and they were cheaper. Have to say they are awesome, heat formed insole too so super comfortable.

As Josh Vegas said. I used a pair of those with the wavy sole on D of E Silver on Dartmoor. Feet only got wet when over topped and they were extremely comfortable when worn in. I remember that took a while though.

Yeah you have to wait for the cardboard to get a bit mushy.

😄 mine never did, unlike my more recent timberland offerings. Must have been the officers version with plastic inserts!
