There's no getting away from it: the future of mankind is doomed. Forsaken. Done for. We're almost certainly going to be either a) consumed by some form of zombie apocalypse, or b) forced to live in and enjoy a world where Justin Bieber records another hit record. Thankfully, Mercedes has engineered a vehicle tailored specifically towards the Bieberpocalypse future. It's called the Unimog. And it's now been updated. This makes us very excited.
*ebays unimog*
Ooh one with a starting price of 1p, no bids yet *bids*
This belongs to a friend 🙂 :

Much to the annoyance of my family for years, any time I see one I shout "UNIMOG" There was a one in our street last week...
I've always wanted one of these:

I'll have a crew cab with the hiab on please.
Actually, scratch that. I'll have the stoopid amg unimog they did.
Funny, I was just reading about the new 'Mog on Zite, and I. Want. One. Now!
Seadog, have you thought about a Pinzgauer? Available in 4 wheel and 6 wheel versions. As long as it can get traction, it'll get up almost anything. Bit cramped though.
I love the articulation in pic 3, driving over the rubble field. Stick an expedition equipped back on it, and you could take it anywhere; even Glastonbury... 😀
They are machines of dreams. But like I think they are best as dreams...
I nearly got ran over by one on my road bike this afternoon. I didn't mind as it was awesome.
My brother used to pick me up from work in a Mog with a chipper fixed to the front bumper. It used to scare the bejesus out of anyone else in the car park. Heh.
I have had an urge to get a Unimog to convert to a camper for far too many years. The only thing stopping me is money and space to keep one!
Is the passenger seat baby seat compatible?
Thankfully I live somewhere where there isn't any reason to own one of those.
They are great but for a bit more affordable fun find a Haflinger 😆
Go anywhere.
Looks perfect for the school run in Surbiton.
Pistonheads has a recent article on the latest model, worth a gander!
Theres a unimog graveyard on a farm in north wales, quite a few there in various states of rusting
Love Unimogs, wanted one but could not justify the cost so went for a VW T3 Syncro with Scooby power - almost as much fun and pretty capable off-road for minibus!!
School run you say, too many kids? I think this may fit the bill for the urban runabout to beat the Q7s:
Hmm I'd love one of those new unimogs with a unicat conversion 8)
Matt_oab, is it just me or does that interia pic not match the exterior pic?
Never mind the Unimog I'll have one of these!!!
I've set my sights slightly lower and have been dropping hints about one of these for my birthday for some time now;
I'm 38 and 5/6ths I'll have you know.
😀
Just mentioned the new Unimogs to a friend who's into vehicles like these and he said they're shite off road. He does drive all sorts of tractors, excavators and weird machines for a living mind you so he's spoiled for choice. Still want one though. Been watching a tree surgeon today using his with a shredder on the front.
Hmm.. must get on a course at Myerscough for my chainsaw tickets. 🙂
mmmmmog, love them, but then they're no match for a tatra 8x8
or a Gama Goat, especially this beast......... Modified Gama Goat
Love Unimogs, but the 6x6 G-Wagen has also tickled me in a Mad Max style!
I'd love to drive that to the shops and upset people
Thankfully I live somewhere where there isn't any reason to own one of those.
Reason? Reason? Who needs a reason? It's a Unimog! That's the only possible reason!
Oh, and CF, I'm with you on that photo. 😀
Brakes, that photo? 😯
:?I'm sorry 6 wheel G wagon has no place here.
But I'm glad to see the Africa version of the Mercedez lorries though
saw this nice example in France:

Must have cost a fortune in fuel getting down to the South from Deutschland.
We were trekking in Wadi Rum in Jordan a few years back. Miles from anywhere but could see a dust cloud on the horizon coming in our direction across the open desert. Watched it getting closer and closer... turned out it was a Unimog fire tender converted to a camper (like the one below) piloted by a couple of mental, wild-haired and bearded Belgians.
Have wanted one ever since (A Unimog that is, not a mental, wild haired and bearded Belgian)
Go on, admit it, who went straight to the 'Bay after perusing this thread... I know I did! 😀
Based on the fact that it seems some want these for the school run / high street
😕
I just fancy a 'Mog for the supermarket run, just because idiot drivers can't damage your bodywork by slamming their doors or shopping trollies into it!

A defender with rock slider sills will accomplish that for you, still a helluva compromise to make over a skoda octavia though...
Based on the fact that it seems some want these for the school run / high street, then you need some new wheels...something like these perhaps?
You don't need big wheels though, the legs on that horse of yours go plenty high enough...
I was on holiday on Arran last week - was exploring the old mines at Corrie, and found where some new power line poles had been put in. Whatever had put them in had gone up a very loose 45-degree slope, through several large rhododendron bushes, and placed the poles at the top of a small cliff.
Was wondering what on earth could have done it until I went into Brodick and there was a lovely new Unimog parked on the seafront 😉
