Thinking of buying one. Seems as if its really good piece of equipment, but still have my doubts. I mean with all veggies being chemically treated this could be the answer. What you think? http://www.amazon.com/Samson-GBW300-Ultrasonic-Ozone-Washer/dp/B001XUAONO/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t/191-7242286-9762160 ]Samson ultrasonic food cleaner[/url]

Am dubious, but would be good for cleaning up bike stuff.

not going to get any chemicals that have been absorbed onto the skin out and any on the skin aren't likely to be water soluble so you might be able to physically knock off someof them with this cleaner.

what's wrong with washing them under a tap and then peeling them?

might be good for carrots/ potatos and other veg that lives underground and has soil on it.

I think I would ask things like -
From the blurb how does the magic that 'neutralises chemicals', know what 'chemicals' to 'neutralise'? After all food is made from 'chemicals'
I'd also enquire as to what a neutralised chemical actually is.

Might be handy for removing snake oil.

This is a joke, right?

If you're that bothered by what may or may not be in your veg, buy organic.

If that still doesn't satisfy you, grow your own.

But an ultrasonic cleaner for food? FFS. Get a grip.

Dear god, whatever next.

The only thing I can see this being good for is getting the gritty bits out of potatos before they get boiled.

My first though was, so it cleans them and kills bacteria, so just like boiling them then..........

Well, it didn't go too well.

But how do you clean off pesticides etc off your fruits and veggies? Genuine question.

But seriously, if you're bothered by the fear of pesticides:

1. buy organic; or
2. grow your own.
