but there’s a very good reason Labour are tio toeing around fiscal rules
fear of the right wing propaganda sheets and being tied to old economics models
Anyway, this made me laugh…
There's a layer beneath that as Saville used to mention "Case Up Next Thursday" if I'm remembering correctly. Which is a lovely double-edged insult for the tetchy short-arse!
There's an example of what I mean! If the 'pen pushers' withdrew labour the arse wipers would soon run out of bedpans to empty 😉
We wouldn't run out of arses to wipe tho 🙂
You'd run out of charts to tick to show you'd done it though!
I don't feel this is progressing the main point
🙂
Who needs pesky paperwork!

While you and I detest that, their supporters will welcome it. 🙁
Yep, I totally agree but it's indicative of the type of scrutiny he's now under and will be under even more if he wins.
Let's face it, he is surrounded by rascists but whenever one is outed, he magically didn't know they were... Amazing, eh?
Now, all it takes is is one leaked conversation where Farage really says what we all know he thinks and boom, his political career is over. Mark my words, he has too many skeletons tucked away and too many people looking for them now.
It's why his whole campaign is so heavily stage managed, Putin, now this. It's not going to be the end of it.
Wonder if Chanel 4 have more video and intend to drip it out, we'll see.
So... no more leaflet dropping opportunities, and I'm not up for doorstepping (I don't feel I'm a good 'advert' for the party I am looking to help)... that leaves volunteering on election day. Anyone done this before? What does it entail? I'm guessing I should hoover the car out? In the meantime... I'm properly broke right now, but I'll drop another £5 in the virtual pot.
Channel 4 News have carried out an undercover sting on Farage’s Clacton team!
They’d be a fair amount of reconstructive dentistry needed if I heard that sort of shit within earshot
Good to see Reform and Farage getting some proper scrutiny
If you haven't watched channel 4 news tonight, you really need to. They’ve done a proper job on all the Reform homophobic racists. Surprisingly, they don’t appear to be the sharpest tools in the box.
In other news, the latest ‘Surrender’ Tory campaign is absolutely desperate. It’s like they’re pulling out the worst bits of the Brexit campaign but without anyone as clever as Cummings putting it together. It’s just clumsy, glaringly offensive and will no doubt be counterproductive
The people running the Tory campaign must surely be plants from the Labour Party?

Farage is an unrepentant racist. Its his whole point. Clever enough to not get called out on it often by using dog whistles and inferences
Yep, but he's human and as we can see, fallible.
From the Beeb:
Undercover filming by Channel 4 News within the Reform UK campaign in Clacton, where Farage is standing for office, also uncovered an apparent admission the party has breached the local electoral campaign spending limit in the seat
Holy shit, I know I posted a couple of tweets about the CH4 investigation but I've only just watched the actual programme on catch up.
It's far worse than I initially thought.
They're are too many things to list... but he proposed having recruits in the beaches to shoot immigrants, calls Sunak a F* P then bald duke white costs "brain dead" after they politely turned down a chat.
Then...
Chatting to an ambulance paramedic, he says to him that "if you get an immigrant in your ambulance dont give him oxygen, give him something else, you know what I mean? Hahaha." Basically, he's telling him to gas him in the ambulance.
Honestly, it needs to be watched.

What is it that Farage could say that would alienate his supporters? If he himself said the words that his campaigners said - no-one would be surprised and no Reform voter would change their mind.
The man-frog is on QT tomorrow night. Given channel 4 news disclosures, that might actually be worth watching
He will just blame it all on being set up by the media and he is the real victim here being treated unfairly

He must be having an affair with Fiona bruce given the amount of times he's been on
Let's be honest the racist rant from the Reform candidate will win farage votes with many
Labour raised £4.4m just in one week at the start of the campaign – in the same week the Tories £290,000.
The problem here is what are those donors wanting from Labour since as the lack of cash to the tories show it generally goes where the return on investment is. Over half of the cash is from one of the Sainsburies but what for example would the hedge fund manager be wanting for their investment and lets be realistic it is almost certainly an investment rather than casual altruism.
Truss showed how quickly things can spiral out of hand if you the markets think you’re being reckless
It is somewhat ironic that most of the damage was actually caused by the reckless behaviour of the markets specifically the pension funds. They were running a risky strategy which couldnt handle a shock. As it happened it was delivered by Truss's nuttery but it could have been anything.

On the Nextdoor group I posted a snippet from earlier, someone's just posted that they could never vote for Labour because Blair abolished the death penalty.
I think there may be some Tory defectors who will reconsider their choice and after all the initial interest I reckon (based on nothing but gut feeling) that they will drop away a bit in the final week. Of course there are all the unknowns/not sayings to factor in.

Could we possibly round up these people and put them all in one place with a stout wall to keep them away from the rest of us? I'm sure they would be happy in their own enclave.

Its actually legalised bribery. Why do you think Streeting is so adamant he wants to put more private healthcare into the NHS - because he takes bribes from privater healthcare companies. labour is nowhere near as bad as the tories for this mind you

Isn't that how we got Australia? 😁

On five live before they had a retired welsh farmer (not our one, obvs) who had always voted Tory and reckoned all the polls were literally made up, as was all the recent news, and the Tories are on for a great victory
His detachment from reality was absolute

I caught that as well. Did we hear from him after Adrian Chiles started taking the piss? I got the impression he went off in a huff!

I was curious since I thought it had been got rid off back in the 60s but having checked they are technically correct. It still in theory applied for certain offences until 1998.
Can you ask them which of the remaining offences particularly concerned them?
High treason and/or espionage. Depending which party they would vote for otherwise this might be a bit tricky with the Putin lovers.
Piracy with violence (is there any other sort?) is rather niche. Are they a sailor?
Arson in the Royal dockyards has the obvious issue of finding one after the tories flogged them off.
After my last post my MP has arrived for the fight.
A3 ish folded mail shot the only mention of the Tory party was a 28mm x 80mm greyed out logo.(Yes I measured it)
Lots of ive done this I've done that. Some of it tbh he has. Still unemployed by the 6th I hope
I know its not strictly on thread but if I hear one more pundit or ill informed hack refer to 'the markets' as if they were some kind of autonomous entity that acted in a rational manner in a repeated fashion given the same set of fiscal/economic circumstances instead of what we all know them to be - a rapacious cartel of global financial engineers, uber capitalists looking to asset strip the taxpayer and the willing complicit political Pontius Pilots then.....I'll do nothing because I can do nothing.
But anyone who thinks it was Lettuce Liz and Kamikaze Kwarteng that put 25% extra on your mortgage needs to look a bit harder into global finance.
Did we hear from him after Adrian Chiles started taking the piss? I got the impression he went off in a huff!
I normally can’t bloody stand Adrian Chiles but he went up in my estimation for openly laughing and taking the piss out of the delusional old fool.
The bonkers thing is that I can’t imagine any Tory government has ever served the interests of Welsh hill farmers, yet he’s voted for them all his life
Turkeys and Christmas and all that
There was another woman interviewed on radio 4 the other day who said her family always voted Tory as they had always been domestic staff at the local Manor House. They were literally rejoicing in and voting to continue being cap-doffing peasants
The problem here is what are those donors wanting from Labour
A properly run functioning country with a successful economy. Businesses need customers with money who are in a good mood to spend it. It isn't always about clientelism, although clearly sometimes it is.

It's remarkable how the penny about post-Brexit subsidies still doesn't seem to have dropped. It's the old adage of a scammed person hating the friend who warned them in advance more than the scammer - as thinking about what the friend said makes them feel stupid.
After my last post my MP has arrived for the fight.
Saw my first tory posters.
A single admittedly large one in Waltham cross.
Then an absolute shitload of A3 (I think) sized ones for Grant Shapps about every 15 metres along the boundary of Hatfield house. Probably about 20 or more of them.
Given how that family made its fortune I guess they are more accepting of people looting the state whilst in political office though.
@kelvin I've done a bit before Mostly phone bashing GOTV type stuff. You' ll need a phone and a laptop.Your job being to get people out to vote if they havent done so already. If they have voted you get as much info as they are willing to share with you. Your party will give you a script to follow. It is best to stick to it. At the end of your session you pass the info you hsve on to hq
I found it ok although the first few calls felt a bit awkward. The person you're calling wont be able to access your phone number.
Anyway I'll be a polling agent this year which is a first for me.

Would suggest changing a few to add in his alternate names during his con-artist days, but I see someone has already been at it.

Takes me back to the good old days of me swapping all the Tory signs festooned on my posh aunt's house for Labour ones back in the 80s.
Saw my first tory posters.
I saw my first Green poster whilst out on a bike ride, outside a farm in Cheshire!!
When I got home I had my first leaflet from my sitting Tory MP. "Don't vote Reform or you'll get Labour". Not in this constituency love, it's a Tory/Libdem swing seat and come next Friday you'll be out on your arse.
Would suggest changing a few to add in his alternate names during his con-artist days, but I see someone has already been at it.
it had definitely crossed my mind but I hadnt seen someone has already helped him out.
I am now tempted to go and admire their work.
