I haven’t read the article and the WP link is behind a paywall. Is being investigated as a ‘hate crime’? Or as ‘destruction of private property’? Both? What is the focus?

The attention seeking virtue-signaling snowflake has made it clear he committed the crime as regards destruction of the someone else's property... he wants everyone to know about that. He claims it's not a hate crime though. The investigation is proceeding as if it might be.

The Proud Boys describe themselves as 'Alt-Light' rather than 'Alt-Right' and claim not to reaaaally be White Supremacists (whilst non the less displaying no shortage of aggression to non-white groups, communities and causes) but have generally been grouped broadly together with other White Supremacist rightwing groups by the authorities because of the threat they pose to those non white groups. They however prefer to describe themselves as 'Western Chauvinists"

I've known for a long time now (three and half years I think) that Trumps last day in office would be on my 50th birthday.
The biggest birthday treat was always going to be seeing his face when he has to give it all up - I had no idea I might have a chance to see it up close and personal 🙂

It would be quite something for the police to block a sitting president. The next day of course all would be good but it would be quite something to try and block the president.
He may be the president but he is not above the law - UK or US as has been made quite clear.
Presumably he would have immunity from prosecution but not from removal? I don't know
