When I were nobbut a nipper, HiFi shops always used to play Hawaii 5-0 through their top-end systems. It made them sound the best thing ever so people bought them. And took them home to be disappointed that their James Last didn't sound the same.
I believe the same thing happened later with Curtis Mayfield's Move on Up.
PS - I believe the unique sound of the Animal Magic theme is made by a harp and a xylophone playing together. I've never seen that combo since, but it does the trick for me.
