I need a paid of brogues. Anyone got a pair of Trickers and do they have the commando (rubber grip on the forefoot) sole?

Have they served you well?

Not my choice, but they are pretty damned good shoes.

(My choice is Duckers in Oxford, cracking shoes.)

Church's Grafton brogue is better, retail at £350 but I got a perfect pair in their factory shop in Northampton a couple of weeks ago for £145. Result. NB Trickers have a factory shop too.

As a wise man once said - Spend good money on your boots or your bed. If you're not in one, you're in the other.

That said, I have a 20 year old pair of Oxfords that fell off the back of the Royal Air Force and they cost me not one bean. Smashing pair of shoes, though!

Thanks all. There's a nice little shop in Hay that has a good range so I'll pop in.
