We will be in touch
What does 'trending' mean, in the context of the front page?
Sorry if I've the wrong end of the stick, or am asking a question where the answer is self-evident, but I thought it was a term used to give an idea of popular searches, when we couldn't think off things to search for ourselves, and needed hints.
Just asking, because I couldn't really see why 'jack noy' might be a common search request.
In the context of the front page I'd imagine it doesn't relate to searches made by regular site users but to the most commonly clicked/consumed articles within a timeframe - most read today or most read in the last week for instance. Or it might be the search terms or linking articles (such as Facebook posts) that have brought new visitors to the site.
I'd imagine its stuff that will disappear again as the site beds in - theres obviously a lot of data that the new forum/site is able to collate and display - but theres plenty of it that the forum users don't need to see - for instance
Viewing 2 posts - 1 through 2 (of 2 total)
or
Viewing 6 posts - 12,841 through 12,846 (of 12,846 total)
and will probably disappear as a bit of tidy up once all the other creases are ironed out
The 'Jack Noy' is a tag relating to a recently published article so its 'trending-ness' probably relates to it being the newest and most clicked content during the STW cohort's monday morning back at work slump 🙂
ok, thanks for the explanation.
