So if you had (more than) 18k lying around, would you throw it at a 1983-plate Ford Transit?

Only, I really think I would.

If I had the money.

Which I don't.

Gratuitous forum glitch second post.

Love that. One of the petrol heads at work reckons I should drop the running gear from a Focus RS into my Connect which would be similarly awesome.

18k is only current bid and reserve not met, so I reckon you need deeper pockets.

Also love that apart from the fan boy branding.

Seller is 'crazy ron'. I think that says it all.
"Will sit at 70mph all day" with 200bhp. What's the none fuel economy? 12mpg🤣🤣🤣

Now that's the kind of thing that makes the world more fun.

However I wouldn't buy it.

I'd have it. Looks well done. LPG and its probably a very usable bus...

Do I like it? Yes.

Would I pay £18k for it? Nope.

You could get a half decent ebike for that money.

No.
There was a bloke on the Transit forum had bought a ruined mk1 LWB and a 4.6L Range Rover engine, I would rather have whatever he comes up with😁

That's the engine I had in my last Capri. That was very entertaining. Vans aren't the same kind of fun to drive so I'd prefer something quiet and economical.

I don't do classics anymore because the sky high prices have sucked the fun out of it.

If you wanted a classic, and a basic campervan thrown in, that sounds like a hoot. It's a lot of money but so is a poorly restored rotbox classic VW...and the Ford would probably turn more heads 🙂

It'd turn more ears. "The hell is that noise?"

Hell yes.

Looks nicely done.

Its a transit so no matter how well the resto is done it'll still attract the tin worm and it'll handle like crap, id rather have a RS3 engine in a VW T5 which is quite easy to do.

Well that one didn't make it's reserve price, despite the bidding going to £18,600. This one is even better however...
