Above Clun

We were up in Northumberland a few weeks back. Popped into Northumberland Country Zoo and they have a little tractor museum.

They also had one of these there (not my photo). Quite ingenious how it's basically the same core chassis and engine just linked together.

As an aside my wife works in a junior school with a large rural community. The kids were making some model cars and testing them on ramps. One of the cars kept crashing. It was red and had bigger rear wheels and a cab over the back. So looked a bit like a tractor.
One of the farm kids mocked it for crashing by saying "That's what you get with a Massey". Properly made me laugh. Apparently he's a John Deer fan.
Was Three Cocks Steam Rally at the weekend.

Makes a change from the Fordsons you usually see like this.
Obviously, forestry stuff gets my interest.

This just popped up on Captcha when logging into my Alpkit account:

Armoured Fastrac?
A bloke on our village facebook group has bought himself a quad copter, and isn't afraid to use it. The proper close up photo's of a local windfarm, I reckon the owners would have been less than impressed! However, I digress, he took some pretty impressive images of some local field work. Lime spreading?? Dunno, I'm no expert.

That is indeed Lime. You'll see more of that with the NPK prices through the roof.
Could also be dried sewage sludge as that looks similar but smells a lot different.
Some interesting tractors near Murat, Auvergne

End of last week was the APF show with loads of forestry kit, plenty of tractors, especially the expensive stuff like Valtra and Unimogs.

This thread is over 13 years old 🙂 OMG.
I take photos of tractors, seed drills and stuff and send to my Dad. He grew up on a farm in Ireland in the 50s/60s so loves to see anything old and agricultural.
He even likes the big new stuff 🙃

How do I post images? I have some beauties from a recent show.
Use the postimages website and copy from the direct link that is offered. Paste the link using the picture icon here.

Ta mate, will give it a go.

Job done!

Without any doubt I'll be buying a 1981/2/3 David Brown when I retire.
I want to see a 1/4 mile drag race on boggy ground with these things before I can commit.
Any body got a ten second tractor? 😀
The guy I sit next to at work. It was many days until he could joke about this....
Didn't realise they have tether straps on the engines so that is why fails always pivot forwards away from the driver.
Some real beauts up there ^^^ 🙂
@chestrockwell it's traditional to save the best to last. I have absolutely zero need to own a tractor, but I'd love a Massey Ferguson 135.
Ah, right, I'll remember that. The Case International should have been last then!
I also have no need for one but that is a minor detail.
Anyone got some GT85?
