What kind of electronics does the car have?

The actual fitting can be fairly straightforward, they usually just slide into the chassis rails under the boot floor.

The electrics can be more of a PITA, most cars just need a relay fitting, but some will need a dedicated wiring kit to talk to the cars ECU via the CAN-BUS.

Used PF Jones to have a towbar installed on my mk7 golf, used the universal wiring kit and spliced into the cars rear brakes. Been working fine with no issues over the past 3 years.

PF Jones. Good prices. Used them for a Tow Bar a few years go on the SMax, using them again for the new car (van). I just went with bypass kit electrics and worked absolutely fine.

Towbar Man South is very good. He did ours and he lives in our road!

Someone at work had a bar fitted by Towsure the other day, mobile fitter came to them and not too pricey.

GT Towing in Hatfield but you might have to go to them.

Numbnut - thanks for your recommendation - a nice bunch of knowledgable chaps and a tow bar fitted in 90 mins with a Thule 927 to go on it.

Already loaded up the three bikes and photo"d the arrangment for future reference - should have do/ne this years ago!
