I was listening to a Dead Flowers cover by Townes Van Zandt where he drums on the back of his guitar, it's rather brilliant. Can't find it on ewetube

Louis Theroux grounded podcast, pretty good ones are Boy George, Gail Porter and Troy Deeney (he comes across great, to my surprise!)

Miriam margolyes was horrific. 😯😆

Innit?

I think it's probably one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard.

Queued up next is Live At Leeds whilst 'er Indoors has a bath, then we're going to push the sofas back and go a bit soul-tastic.

@rusty: I can recommend the complete matrix tapes. It even has a 38 minute version of Sister Ray... 😜

I’ve been doing a bit more grime recently. While cooking this evening I started on a bit of grime-lite à la Stormzy and now heading into a deeper dive of Ghetts. I’ll probably listen to a bit of Dave for pudding.

Rusty “The Hairy Throwback” Spanner has reminded me to go and check out Cowboy Junkies - which I’ll do when relaxing later.

Vastly superior to the Stones version (which in itself is excellent).

I may find myself listening to some early Fleetwood Mac before bedtime.

Haven't been able to find the version I was listening too in the car today it was on a mix cd I made too. I thought it was on the Road Songs CD but Spotify says no.

Full album " You forgot it in people " popped up on random play on a USB stick I had on whilst putting together a retro tracker bike this morning.Listened to it all.Got to say one of the best bands live I have ever seen when I saw them play 2007 ish.Perhaps the most well known track from a great album imho.

Slow, stoned blues with slightly challenging time signatures appears to be working well.

If we can dance to this without falling over, we may embark on the gin.

Haven't really listened to much today other than my shuffled Google Music 'no filler' playlist, but just wanted to +1 Dead Flowers era Stones and Cowboy Junkies.

If we're talking twisted country (could be a whole new thread in its own right) then I'd add this lot to the mix...

This evening, after Peter Green's death...early Fleetwood Mac, Leo Kottke - still going strong, Rhiannon Giddens, Johnny Winter, Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal, Stefan Grossman, Eric Bibb.
If you don't know of Rhiannon Giddens, check her out - fabulous.
Here's a Leo Kottke clip from a long time ago

Driving to work last week, Lauren Laverne played this, the lead track from a new EP by Wye Oak. I had to sit in the car until it finished, Shazamed it and downloaded it during my break, and I haven’t stopped playing it since. It’s just a magnificent piece of music, I get whole-body shivers when the choir really kick in. Just beautiful.

I been listening to the best of Magazine and this brilliant song was in my head all day on today's ride

Also got a cheap CD of Moderat, just cos I had Moderat 2 & 3 on CD and 1 only on Mp3, so giving that a blast

And can't wait for the new Marlowe. Was surprised to hear it on 6 music's playlist

Strange, just realised they all begin with M 🙂
