Seeing as the good Captain is away in the far-east, I assume this is why there's been no cricket chatter today... so thought I'd start one for the heck of it 😉

All I have to say at the moment is... well, well, well... quite a performance from the Indian bowlers this, looking forward to watching the highlights this evening!

Wonder if Englands seamers can find the same swing eh? Will find out soon enough, at this rate!

they'll bowl too short and wide and get cut and pulled all over the place.

Haven't looked at the weather forecast but I'm hoping the conditions stay the same this evening and tomorrow to give England an even chance.

Need to take a few wickets in the evening session if India bat.

Just checked the score - Oops. No way will India go as cheaply as that - they have had their one batting failure this tour and that was with injured / ill batsmen.

I want to see a competative series and I don't think India will relinquish the No1 spot easily

And England don't have the bowlers anyway. Broad swan Anderson, Bresnan is not enough. One more bowler needed.

Mutter mumble back in my day, my old mum could have caught it in her pinny, my granny could have hit that with a stick of Rhubarb mutter mumble

Poor application from England and a markedly improved performance from India. Great to see the 2 best sides in international cricket going head to head.

Excellent performance from England at Lords earlier in the week. Let's see what they can do with the ball before passing judgement. Shame about Tremlett but then India are also a strike bowler down.

I wonder what would happen if we played Australia right now...... 😯 ......... 8) ............. 😆

We are 1-0 up against the best test team in the world with the opportunity to overtake them as world no. 1, ashes winners 3 out of the last 4 series and twenty/20 world champions. 😀

Aussie baiting is a sideshow. How are the baggy greens these days? Is Mitchell still bowling underarm?

I'm waiting to see what happens when Jimmy Anderson bowls in these conditions.

Good to hear Swann hit the first kicking horse of the series.

As long as he has the same conditions to bowl in.

Least it'll mean it will be 1-1 for the 3rd test which I am going to 🙂

Broad looking very good, Andersen a bit ropey, hopefully he can keep off the strike for Broad to rack up a few more.

Broad swan Anderson, Bresnan is not enough. One more bowler needed.

Trott put in a reasonable infilling job at Lords.....
Pietersen also can turn his arm over a bit

pffttp. Neither is anywhere near a test bowler. India bat so well we must have five real bowlers IMO.

Good innings from Broad. I said before this series he needed to perform and so far he has. Lets see another five for

"He hit it like a kicking horse" is one of Henry Blofeld's commonly used phrases on TMS, used to describe a 4 or 6 hit off the square with a thump. I didn't hear him use it in the Lords test.

\o/ first ball wicket of their innings to Anderson.

I'm presently living in Oz - I guess that's about as far into the past as I'd like to go!

Oh, and I'm still not allowed to mention the cricket at work. Ozzies - don't like it up 'em!

Oh yes, they are quality batsman, and plenty more to come in the lineup as well... conditions look to be much more batsman friendly today, and even better tomorrow...

Damage limitation now. Every run needs to cost India time. If we can get through to the close having given away a modest lead and eaten into the tail then I reckon we'll be satisfied. I can see England scoring well second innings to I'm going to call draw now.

Indeed. Proper cricket. So good to watch two excellent teams go at it.

Fantastic day's play, amazing effort from Broad again - without him this match would have been over long ago. Great innings from Dravid too.

Good morning everyone 🙂

What will today's play bring. Will England score 300? Will in India have a case of less than 150? Will pieterson ever catch a cricket ball again? Questions questions

I'd like a quiet first half hour please, rather hungover and waiting for my bacon buttie to arrive and the ibuprofen to kick in.

Very finely poised at the moment isn't it. Just one good innings or bowling performance could send it either way again.

A bit of spice added to the series 🙂 Claimed that the umpires visited the Indian dressing room asking if they wanted to withdraw their review, and Dhoni said no 😆 Shame as it was a cracking innings for Bell

Big pat on the back for Dhoni there, nice to see the spirit of the game coming through. Sounded a right old mix up though! Like to think Strauss would've done the same as well. Intriguing test so far!

Wheels coming off the innings a little with the new ball having been taken. Decent lead, though.

I reckon a quick bash from Trott, may at 7, maybe let Broad open his shoulders for a few and then put them in tonight with a few overs before the close

Disagree. Bat on and on and on. Still got over 2 days. Would like to see the lower order all chipping in and setting India a target of 400 plus around 2.30pm tomorrow.
