It is a good film, but doesnt go for the complexity of the original BBC series adaptation. The latter you really have to concentrate.

I'd disagree with Stoner - the film is far more nuanced/oblique. However there is no disputing how magnificent the Guinness version is.

It is excellent. Slow burner as said but I love it. Really captures the atmosphere of the day..
Love the understated nature of it.

Works well if you have read the book. Watched it originally with my wife who hadn't and she couldn't follow it.

But I really liked it.

The latest film is great. Oldman is one of the finest actors out there. So versatile.

Samurai. Spot on. Oldman is an excellent actor. Underrated IMO.
