I commute in central London, I see loads of them around - I didn't even know they were illegal. In fairness most of the ones I see get around in the bike lanes but stop at all the lights and generally act responsibly. Although it would help if more of them had lights/reflective bits as they're quite quick but not very visible

I'd no idea you could have points on a non existent license. Also, no idea how it works in practice...

On BBC Breakfast this morning. Apparently these scooters are the solution to overcrowded roads, pollution etc. They were talking like the push bike didn't exist! Until, of course, the mention that scooters should use cycle lanes. Mr. "Bird" says the cycle lane infrastructure should be improved!! Well well....

As long as it's London only, thanks very much.

I mean, cycle lanes round here (and most places) are pretty useless and we already have to dodge parked cars, or moving cars, as well as other street furniture.

Main advantage with the scooters seems to be you an just stand there like a typically lazy moron and be carried to your destination. Do they even go up hills?
