If you're old enough, takes you back to energy blackouts, off licenses at the back of pubs, three TV channels and Sunday bath night after an egg salad tea and songs of praise. Sorry, getting a tad nostalgic there after seeing the outage page for the last hour or so here.

I remember those days. Maybe it's on a 3 day week?

off licenses at the back of pubs

Which made more sense of the term "off license".

Mind you life generally made more sense back then. I'll be ****ed if I can figure things out these days.

OP - at least you got the website stable enough to write a post before it refreshes in the most irritating irrational way

It was the Corona yellow van round our way. 10p for each bottle return. Used to be a nice earner.

Alternating pop vans of Barr and Alpine round our way. Barr was better, Iron Brew (original spelling), Red Cola, Cream Soda and Dandelion & Burdock.

No love for Dunbars - or was that just an East Coast thing?

No video store but a bloke used to come around once a week in a fiesta van with a load of videos no-one had ever heard of all stacked in bread crates once a week.

Mr Bacon's pop lorry round our way. 10p deposit on a bottle must have been 1/3rd of the total price back then.

Sorry, been to the pub, has there been a problem I’m not aware of? TBH,I rarely get anything like that, maybe it’s the two cans and a piece of damp string your local network provider uses that’s the issue.

I saw one the other day you'll be glad to hear. It was blue though.

I've been away from this site for a (long) while.
The outage was quite nostalgic. As with a lot's I've noticed since returning, some things never change 🙂
