no mate, genuine 😆 & just up the road from us

mate of mine is in the harley davidson owners club & they have an annual sandy balls outing. I thought it involved skinnydipping at the beach for at least a year or two

Nope, driven past it frequently. Always makes me chuckle, but not as much as the fact that sawcock is just over the road 🙂

Try 'tittybong' or 'wide fanny bay' - both in Oz.

...and they explain the name on their website

[i]Our unusual name can be traced as far back as the reign of Henry VII. It appeared on maps and other documents of the time as ‘Sandyballas’, which is the description given to the dome-shaped sand and gravel outcrops on our western boundary.

Those outcrops were formed millennia ago during the Eocene era. Many of them remain including Good Friday Hill and Giant’s Grave, and it’s for them that Sandy Balls Holiday Centre is named.

here in Bavaria there is Busendorf and Poppendorf just down the road from me. translates to Titvillage and Bumvillage respectively.

i made a 30km detour when riding from London to Munich in order to ride through the town of ****, also in Bavaria.
