Hi all I currently work as a massage therapist and love complementary therapies. However thinking about my future as much as I love massage it can take its toll on me physically and was thinking of doing hypnotherapy to add to my therapies. At the moment I'm thinking about it but was wondering if anyone had any experience or views on the subject. I look forward to hearing your opinions.
I'm waiting for you to tell me...
You thinking and writing about hypnotherapy is already making me feel kind of woozy and I'm not even in the same room as you. I think you must have the power.
I say go for it.
I really enjoyed hypnotherapy - never felt so relaxed in my life as after a session. Never did figure out where all my clothes were and how I ended up in that field....
Yeah its odd how your pants always end up on backwards.....
Paul Mackenna failed to put me under! or did he................

hypnotherapy for what?
I heard it's pretty easy to get into (on an old QIXL last night).

One day we had a demonstration of hypnotism at college. I told my Dad, a doctor, about it and he replied: "Oh, I used to use hypnotherapy a lot; I even taught a patient to hypnotise herself to feel no pain in labour. She rang me later and told me it had worked, she was delighted."
I've never quite believed that story but I do believe hypnotherapy can work between the right people. Some years ago I tried it to deal with a problem we had with the drug dealers next door but the hypnotherapist turned up late, which annoyed me and I didn't find him convincing at all so I just pretended I was in a trance and then didn't go back again.
In all seriousness though, looking at something less physical is a good idea. My dad's ex-wife is a traditional Chinese Doctor. She used to do a LOT of deep tissue massage (quieten down at the back) and these days (she's in her late 40s) she has terrible arthritis in her knuckles, wrists and elbows. She sticks to the accupuncture these days.
