I was in Cannes last week (as one does) and saw some even more ridic cars than the evoke. Mercedes 6x6, maclarens, lambos. Great riding past on the bike, so long as you don't hit the wing mirrors. Rather have a vdub

Not sure there'll be too many buyers on STW!

The thing with big petrol cars is that you can stick an LPG conversion on them and run them off that. I know a couple of people that have done that and manage to get the car they wanted (AMG C class Merc was one) and still be able to afford to drive it.

I quite fancy the idea of a 9 grand Cayenne on LPG fitted out for off-roading.

Really good at sweeping generalisations, then.
A good friend of mine has a new RR Sport, replacing his previous model Sport. He's someone I have a great deal of respect for, who travels to very dangerous parts of the world to help very disadvantaged people.
He's many times the man you are.

Very good, but clearly he's made a big mistake buying a cockwagon as people will make make that simple assumption....especially with a private plate!

Haters will be haters.

My WW2 veteran grandfather drove a Range Rover. Had them for over 20 years. Since the war he started his own specialist machining factory supplying high precision parts. He specifically employed school leavers with no education as that was effectively what he was and put them on what he always said was a 50 year apprenticeship! In his later years he was involved heavily in the wounded warriers charity.

He really wasn't a ****.

Did he buy the Evoque that seems to be mostly driven by people who want to be photographed flashing their underwear leaving nightclubs with footballers or one of the older practical ones?

The new Sport is an amazingly good car. He has the cash, why not? If you want a 1.4D Vauxhall Nova or 1.0 Rover Metro or whatever that's fine too but why are you attacking his choice of vehicle? Jealousy perhaps or maybe envy.
Tell us all, which chariot sits on your driveway/street?

Need to be careful with LPG as there is still the chance that the government will start taxing it at the same point as normal fuel and it will become as expensive.

All these stupid fashion cars.

Urban Crossovers like the Nissan Juke, the manufacturers thought they would be picked up by young urban go-getters and the lifestyle conscious, the ad for the Renault Captur even has a surfer in it.

But who buys them?

Pensioners, because the high up driving position means they are easier to get in and out of.

Every time I see a "Mini" Countryman I want to vomit and then find the lazy designer and force him to look at the bloody thing non-stop. Its like the just put enlarge 50% into their autocad program then went to the pub.

When Porsche engineers got their hands on the Macan chassis (which is based on the Audi Q5) they decided they only way to get acceptable handling was to mount the engine so low it needed to be dry sumped. How about not sticking a Porsche badge on a stupid jacked up MPV in the first place

Keep your wig on iolo, its only banter! I have two Pals with them and we even made number plates COCK 1 for a recent trip. I'm not going to rise to your questions, as you'd be disappointed with the answer.

Project well done for considering a car made in the UK by people whose tax is payed here. We need every job we can get and manufacturing jobs are important to many of us.

Looks just like an Evoque with a decent boot.

Shame they had decided to call it a discovery but I guess it means they can tag onto the Discovery reputation and buyers will be able to say they own a Discovery.

Bigger than a Feelander sounds good.

Hmmm, I'd like to know if they've fixed the gearboxes in Disco's yet. Last I heard they'd all seazed 😆

Anyways, thats just an Ewoke on steroids, clearly the same designer has one pencil in RR and the other in LR.

I shouldn't say this but the headlamps on both are starting to look Eastern too, must be a fazionfing.

JLRs marketing dept are moving into a whole new level of buzzword bull**it with the new car though!

It has "Volume Optimised Proportions" apparently, whatever that means......

Good news, new low cost version out in China for £14,000. But I don't think we will see it over here 😉

Found something the Evoque is good at: http://indianexpress.com/article/trending/range-rover-evoque-accident-drivers-walks-out-scratch-less/

Driving off overpasses!

In other news, LR have announced the Evoque Plus which is a bit longer and with an extra row of seats...so kind of like the Discovery Sport 😕
