Riding my bike(s)

Getting a bottle of wine and some nibbles and watching a film, lying on my bed, with my dog

When I do a job (bike, car or caravan) that I wasn't sure I could do properly, and it comes out right

I like it when my friends are happy

Loads of things really, but this will do to start

I like those jumpers that SAS wannabes wear. You know, the woollen ones, crew neck and patches on the elbows and shoulders. Preferably in black.

Also, french cigarettes, fish and chips, Mitchell and Webb, and my kids.

Watching reasonable questions and points of view being made on STW then degenerate into personal insults and unholy rows totally out of proportion to the seriousness of the subject!

I have a mental picture of Chipps and Mark sitting in their office with their heads in their hands, like Dr Frankenstein, wondering what this monster is they've created...

Oh and I like buying, fiddling with and riding bikes 🙂

No, from google.

And if you want a list (in no particular order)

Drinking, mates, bikes (all of them), riding bikes, fixing bikes, talking about bikes, badminton, boxing, tennis, almost all other sports, girls, being young, sunny days, sleeping, eating, music, doing stupid things and getting away with it, maths, learning new things, cats (dogs are stupid), living in a country where the worst worry for most people is how crap 11 of us are at kicking a ball around a field and plenty more things.

Getting post, wine, a lager shandy after a hot bike ride, the feeling when you're really pushing yourself(last night - not much time so a continuous 1000m climb on the road bike) and you realise you're fit enough to cope with it without too much knackerdness, the smell of rain and friendly cats.

Mrs North
Hardback books
Eggshell interior woodwork paint
Sunlight lighting up dust during the afternoon
5pm after a really hot day
The sound of silence
That joyous whoosh on hearing some extraordinary music for the first time
No chain feeling when riding the bike
Homecooked food

I could go on....

Riding a bit of trail I've ridden a few times and it just clicking, that moment when you feel like no one can beat you at that moment. Got that in Wales on Dreamtime on CyB last week. I rocked. 🙂

Ice cold milk and Bourbon Creams (proper long thin ones not the squarish ones).

An expertly cooked steak and chips.

The smell of sleep.

Driving my van fully packed up for a trip away.
Good book.
Holiday cigarettes.
Watching my Mrs jump up and down on the spot screaming (very rare event) when we have an argument then forgetting about it and having a cup of Earl Grey.
Putting up a difficult piece of wallpaper and smoothing it down seeing its spot on whilst listening to Radio 4.

So simple so nice.
