Stupid question perhaps, but it looks like I'll be hanging about the Brick Lane area while my mates turn up. a) can you recommend a decent bar/ pub in the vicinity (not too loud, not too grotty) that's not too bad to sit in for an hour or b) anything else to do round there for an hour or so?

Cheers

You could mooch around Rough Trade in the Truman Brewery. Easy way to kill some time and part with a few bob. If not open the bar next door is good and probably not too hectic. Can't remember name but should be pretty obvious.

But seriously, don't collect the hooker cards. Some nasty chaps will want to know why you are interfering with their advertising campaign. Better thing to do is buy a cheap bicycle. Lots of folks down there seem to have gone off biking, after buying some really nice bikes too.

Big Chill Bar is worth a look. Nice place and good music.

I really will be a fish out of water, eh? No fixie, no converse, no skinny jeans...
