Cheese and marmalade sandwiches. The stronger the cheese the better.

to my mind the only acceptable application for marmalade

however I’ve been extolling the virtues of the ham, gruyere, banana and creme fraisch  pan-fried eggy bread sandwich on this forum for about 15 years and I don’t think I’ve ever convinced anyone to try one

For me its a rare treat as I can’t really tolerate dairy but it’s so lovely it gets eaten straight out of the pan standing at the stove

@dozofoz - pretty much my favourite butty. Try a really strong Tasty Lancs, it’s even better than cheddar. I bloody love beetroot!

Let me recommend you try this pure filth on white bread (Warburtons toastie):

Morrison’s cheese and onion sandwich filler

And sweet juniper and black pepper beetroot

@binners - with most houses having Central heating now, room temp is quite high compared to when red wine was traditionally served at room temp. Shoving you're Pinot Noir in the fridge for 20 mins before serving is usually a good idea

Mackie's vanilla ice cream out the freezer for half an hour pour in some whisky, whip it all up for a few mins then re freeze
Port is another favourite gives it a nice dark pink colour and cracking flavour

Black pudding? Another winner!! Living in Bury it’s almost compulsory.

In my Christmas spirit of recommending perfect accompaniments for stuff, have you tried it with a really eye-wateringly strong Roquefort melted on the top

Or chicken breasts stuffed with black pudding and Stilton that they do on Bury Market?

Put a mince pie in the oven, get it lovely and warm. Pop the top off when it comes out and put a decent slice of stilton inside.

Some good stuff on here but will give the coronation chicken scooped up with Bourbon biscuits a miss.

Our festive cake/cheese combo is xmas cake and white Stilton or crumbly Cheshire.

Binners what was it you recommended on Aldidl Manchego?

black pudding is another food of the gods. Bury brand does nothing for me; controversially the supermarket go-to for me is Klonakilty. Which is beef!!!

Haggis pizza

Lasagne made 50/50 with minced beef and haggis is stunning.

I was a stilton w/mince pie virgin until recent years when introduced to them via a person from Kidderminster. My skepticism dissolved in the afterglow of cakeycheesemould. Acid reflux never tasted so good!

Mrs Tyred has just this minute eaten a miniture Twirl out the heroes tub then went straight in for a marinated green olive.

Stilton mince pie sounds amazing. Made mince pies earlier this evening. Pretty sure there's stilton in the fridge.

Will you give it a rest please. I've had a Chippy Tea followed by sausage rolls and cheese & Biscuits and I'm still hungry.

You just need to wrap the chicken breasts stuffed with black pudding & stilton in sweet cure bacon then slathered in redcurrent jelly to allow me to die a happy man 🙂

Can’t wait to try them; especially peanut butter and marmite!

Don’t really care for either. But the jar of ready mixed we have in the cupboard is better than the sum of its parts. Proper synergy!

Oh and savoury cream tea. Scone, goats cheese and chilli jam.

Chorizo and taramasalata? I thought I was the only one! In a similar vein for years my wife has made a little vom noise as I, face in the fridge, scoop taramasalata up with a roll of Parma ham.

These thing are truly the work of the devil himself according to people I have dealt with:

1. Di2 - communicates with Microsoft and Google and will short out and electrocute you, especially on a Ti frame. Allows Amazon to listen to your gear changes.

2. Tubeless - will puncture and go flat the second you leave the house IF you can get it to seal. Tyres are known to explode and kill nearby puppies and kittens. The only safe way to cycle is 120 PSI in a tubed tyre.

3. Disc brakes - untried technology. Will lead to deafness due to squeeling and rub noise that you can't eliminate. Hot rotors can also slice people in half during an accident.

I suspect some of my customers experiences may be anecdotal.

Testify! This tradition was passed down to me from my father - I can confirm that a single malt accompanies it rather well.

In a similar vein, using a Christmas pudding to stuff a turkey results in the nectar of the gods...
