Nope, not a typo... I just tried taramasalata on my croissant thinking it was going to join the sriracha, peanut butter and cheddar toastie in the pantheon of things that shouldn't work, but do. But no it was filthy.
Any other (ig)noble failures to avoid?
Taking a 'just wang it in there' attitude to forum software updates 😀
My local bakery once offered an ice cinnamon focaccia…… for one day only. I was doubtful but had no reason to doubt them as everything else they offer is great. they do great focaccia, they do great cinnamon buns so this will be double great. Yes?
it was awful both to eat but also to be witness to a bunch of lovely things being turned into something really bad. Also - quite expensive.

Touch screens in cars.
And I even own a car with a 'too many things on the touchscreen. It's still less than optimised way of operating many things.
Safety guards and processes that are so bloody awkward to use, you work around them and remove any safety.
Yes, this is from personal experience.
Bit of a throwback but nicotine gum. Gum burning unsatisfying and minging and shit.

I suppose there is a clue in their name.

I bought the new dishwasher/gimp mask/phone/whatever 6 months ago, and when I did, I used web searches to find what I wanted. So stop trying to sell me more of them.
Peanut butter and Marmite. It sounds revolting but as it turns out it is, in fact, surprisingly revolting.

I was already all too aware of the multitude of shortcomings of this technology six years or more ago, and that was before all the manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon! A good example was the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso. Not only did it have a touchscreen to control all the functions like climate control, radio, etc, but the screen was right in the centre of the dashboard, out of the driver’s line of sight!
Then Mercedes got in on the act by fitting screens across the full width of the dashboard, and demonstrating the sheer folly of such a feature, by having the entire dashboard system fail on a car being driven out of a workshop after bodywork and paint repair done! Imagine that happening at 70 on a motorway late at night!
One of the reasons I chose my car was because it has an analogue display and actual knobs to control climate control and the radio, although there are supplementary controls on the steering wheel.
Various manufacturers are, belatedly, waking up to the fact that, as it’s illegal to use a phone with a touchscreen while driving, the same technology should be just as illegal in a moving vehicle!
I think a few people misunderstood the brief.
Camera sensors, they shouldn't improve low lights photography when they get small. And they infact don't.
