Something has dug a hole under my fence and into a stack of turf slabs on the other side. The entry looks to be about golf ball size - how do I find out what it is without demolishing the stack? Guess it comes out at night. Beyond that is a "wild" patch of land - plenty rabbits but they always disappear away.
Tiger?
Is there any evidence of frozen sausages within the turf stack?
golf ball size is pretty small although quite a few animals can do a good job of squeezing through small holes. Rat maybe.
Wildlife camera or flatten part of the route and put sand/fine soil on it and play spot the print.
Lothian Death Viper
BR, obvs...
It's a panther.
They tunnel, trying to find the west, and a bright future, but invariably end up in the east, looking longingly toward the land of the setting sun....
It's one of these three
A. Dalek
B. Micro tramp
C. Ewe
I'm going with c. Ewe, jimmy
It’s a panther
Maybe. We do love our hole.
I love your hole as well.
I gotta hole lotta love.
Cats can fit through the tiniest of spaces.

Chapeau stabiliser, well worked.
Squirt a hose into it, and see what runs out.
🤣🤣🤣
I’m going with c. Ewe, jimmy
I'm glad I got that.
I'm going with a panther in my hole and a squirting worth my hose.
I’m also thinking it could be a micro tramp.
Squirt a hose into it, and see what runs out.
Brace yourself, Perchy...!

Ffs can no one use the English language properly any more. Its hole weak. Hole. Weak.
I have a similar query. In front of my garage door, I have a couple of (unused) patio chairs, all folded up. Behind the chairs are lots of leaves, but within the leaves, I can hear something - croaking, but not frog/toad type noises.
Perhaps a baby bird? But could it be something rather sinister/nasty ready to pounce?
Hedgehog Glen? Reach in and see if you end with a, erm, Hedgehog, in your hand.
Loving the replies.
It could be a mole. We have some. Their tunnels/holes are surprisingly small and they would dig in to a pile of turf.
Unlikely to be a Louise. Louise holes are normally pretty big!
I've heard that Panthers don't need very big holes.
So panther.
I’ve heard that Panthers don’t need very big holes.
Don’t kid yourself, love 😉

Actually, she was rather ti[That's enough! Ed]
Face it, you've got Wombles. Orinoco, Uncle Bulgaria and all. And they're a bugger to get rid of...
Hedgehog Glen? Reach in and see if you end with a, erm, Hedgehog, in your hand.
Good shout, might well be a hedgehog. I didn't want to disturb something without good reason. I'll leave it be for now....
Honneeey Badgeeeer!!!! Ruuuuunnnn!!!
I think Glenn has a lesser brown leaf dweller. One of these and an absolute bugger to get rid of

Any evidence of hair?
