Nobody was desperately bored enough to watch the Engerland game last night then?

I just read a brief match summary in the Guardian, which described it as a contender for the worst game of football ever played, though that should come as no great surprise to anyone. I can’t believe people pay good money to go and watch this dross.

God, I hate these international breaks!

I watched it during a Google meets call, it did bring a new meaning to tedium.

Am I right in thinking that at 44 days, he was in the job exactly the same time as Liz Truss was in hers

Spurs are the Liz Truss of the EPL (soon to be Championship). Dyche in to try and get them back up next season?

I think we need one or two of the "big 6" to go down to make the clubs and leagues understand how no club, when run badly, can survive for ever.

I am being optimistic, obviously

Apparently de Zerbi is favourite, but doesn't fancy the relegation fight...

Feel a bit for the Spur's fans here... "During his time in the south of France, De Zerbi described Mason Greenwood as a "good guy" who had paid a "heavy price" for his past."

Arguably he has paid no price for his past.

44 days was also the length of Brian Clough’s tenure at Leeds United.

So it is De Zerbi - how much of a severance deal do we think he has if Spurs get relegated?

I still have a lot of time for RDZ for his time at Brighton. It was the best time I’ve ever had as a supporter.

It took us 5 games to get a win (tbf we played some decent sides in his first 5 games) but we were in a good spot before he took over. I think we’d won 3 drawn 1 lost 1 before Potter left for Chelsea. Without a doubt we had a great side with Estupinian, Caicedo, Trossard, MacAllister so once it clicked we were very good. I really don’t see who he has at Spurs that can play the way he wants. Kind of hope they stay up as it’s a good away day.
His first home game will be against Brighton so I’ll look forward to that and hopefully we can completely ruin his big day.

The Bosnia-Italy winner-takes-all WC qualifier is a pretty mad game. Italy are so fragile, they're making 2026 Celtic look like Bayern Munich.

Another riveting display from Engerland, weak qualifying group again, not preparing them for competition.

OMG three World Cups in a row Italy have missed.

RDZ has signed a 5 year deal at Spurs. Are we having a sweep as to when he'll pick up his pay-off? I'll go for 6 weeks into next season with them mid-table in the Championship

Gone by Christmas for any of the following reasons:

- relegation and playing Stoke away on a Tuesday night in January

- keeps them up but isn't backed in the transfer market

- pressure from fan groups who seem as if they're united in their hatred toward him already

Maybe it's an elaborate April Fool by the Spurs management team?

So, for the peoples games, it'll be $11, 000 for a final ticket. So glad Ireland is boycotting this world cup.

Wonder how that result will translate to Arsenal’s league form? City looked slick today, albeit aided by lethargic Liverpool.

That's an easy answer, as I've been saying all along. We will fold, spectacularly. Citeh are getting better at just the right time of the season. I think they will do the domestic treble.

People pointing the finger at Kepa in the last two cup games. He is far from the problem. We are lethargic, slow, and look out of ideas.

So much for our much-heralded depth of squad - our second choice players really are second best.  City look to be back to form but I still think that luckily we have built enough in hand to win the PL, which is the one that matters to me.

I wonder if City’s resurgence will see Pep stay on and another five years of domination 🫣 Definitely a rebuild going on with Guehi, Semenyo etc and possibly Elliot Anderson to replace Rodri? Bernardo Silva leaving too I think.

Liverpool were absolutely awful yesterday. I don't think I've ever seen a title winning side go down the pan so quickly (discounting Leicester who lost most of their squad). Couldn't string two passes together, Salah couldn't hit a barn door with a shovel and was duly yanked off, and how many times during every game does the camera pan to VVD stood with his hands on his hips, staring up to the heavens, after another piece of woeful, comedy defending?

That does not look like a happy dressing room. They've got PSG at their place next match, which could be even more off a spanking than City delivered yesterday

Worst title defence since the last time they won the league. Mitigated then by a resurgence and Allison scoring to clinch a champions league spot. Can’t see it this time. Brentford, Everton, Fulham etc must have a real chance of pipping them or Chelsea to fifth.

I don’t think the title winning team of last year was that much - as a Gooner I lost count of the number of times Liverpool stumbled only for us to fluff the chance to close the gap; it really felt like one that we let get away.  Salah has looked like his legs have gone all season and I bet Slot is relieved he won’t be under pressure to select him.

Looks like FIFA have been knobbling World Cup ticket holders again - this time moving them to different areas from where they originally purchased the tickets.

Oh dear. Spurs are now in the bottom 3. They’ve got Sunderland away on Sunday, which isn’t an easy game for anyone. Xhaka would absolutely delight in piling on their misery

Leeds right in the mire too. Play West Ham on the last day!

The cruel and heartless side of me would love to see Spuds go down. The biggest fish since 73-74 when Leeds won the league and ManU went through the trap door.

Big weekend in the SPFL, last one before the split and every game means something.  Aberdeen can't afford to lose against Hibs, Celtic need to win but St Mirren are fighting to stay up and are in reasonable form, Dundee United v Livingstone is probably the least important but Livvy not giving up, Hearts have to take advantage of the game and win to keep the pressure on the ugly sisters, Kilmarnock need to beat Dundee but Dundee playing well and finally Falkirk maybe cause a bit of an upset at Castle Grey skull.

9 points but 2 games in hand and a game between them. On paper, they're level.

And City tend to come good in the stretch, whereas Legohead's bottlers bottle it in April.

Arteta made a few snide comments last year about Liverpool’s points total. They’ll do well to reach it this season.

It certainly looks like Arsenal are reverting to their standard procedure. All we need is for Arteta to release a video saying “I’d love it! I’d love it if we beat them!!” Before that play Citeh and we’re done.

Still a big ask for city. A few years ago I'd say the Arsenal would get caught, not so sure as this city team are not quite so imperius.

Agree. We may have a final day decider at both ends of the table, and in Scotland for the title as well.

So, unexpected victory in yesterdays Old Farm derby leaves Ipswich in second with 2 games in hand. Still time to fall into the playoffs and blow it from there.

Thats a long old trip back to North London from Sunderland, having just watched another toothless performance to cement your place in the bottom 3

No new manager bounce in evidence, just the same old Spurs

They'll pass a load of disgruntled Newcastle fans around Leicester somewhere.... 25 points squandered from leading positions this year. If they'd held all of them (unlikely, I know) they'd be three points behind Arsenal, if they'd kept half even they'd be third or fourth.

How much of that is due to Howe - tactically sitting deeper and trying to hold a lead or by 'wrong' substitutions, and how much players making shit decisions at the end of games I don't know, but it has to get fixed and if Howe can't do that, then I'm afraid his time is running out.

Things set up for a great match at The Etihad next Sunday. I wonder if Arteta will have the courage to actually try to win it.

Well, he’ll have no chance of beating Citeh on the form they were in during the second half today if he just relies on playing for set-pieces. They’re going to have to actually come out and play.

Right now my money is definitely on Citeh winning the title. Again. They look like they’re doing that end of season momentum thing they’ve done so many times before
