[#6276983]

it's a white bird with grey feathers also. either a dove/pigeon.

came home about 1 hour ago and it was perched on top of my fence, didn't fly away when i was making some food.

well it's still there now when i went down to wash up.

it doesn't look injured (well it's on top of the fence for one thing 🙂

should i be worried for it,or do you think it's just chilling out in some shade, from the heat of the sun.

really endearing little chap/chapess.

Put a sign on your fence saying "please do not perch here".

"please do not perch here"

Seems harsh if it's an endearing bird. Just put up a perch sign, see if it chuckles.

Collared dove I bet; the most stupid of all feathered creatures.

Collared dove I bet

It's a baby robin. What we need to know is what it wants, and whether it's cool or has a beef with the OP.

Some baby birds haven't got the 'fear factor' yet and will just sit around.

Watch out, some of them are mind control birds!

tbh he/she is welcome to perch as long as they want (i think it is shading from the sun).

It could be injured or exhausted. Try giving it some broken up energy bars or some oats.

Nah, baby pigeons are just dumb and lazy. They'll sit around for an age waiting to be fed, then flap off and sit somewhere else.

PS - Sauteed woodpigeon breast is quite good too iolo.

Tautology. Either "At least an hour" or "an hour plus", but not both.

Newly hatched

😕 "Newly hatched" Collared Dove ?

It looks a lot bigger than an egg to me, and I can see all its adult flight feathers with no sign of any juvenile down feathers.

It's a "newly hatched" Collared Dove ?

Fair comment Ernie. I meant fledged.

Ah newly fledged, yes, very possible. No sign of juvenile down feathers though, doves/pigeons usually have a few down feathers still showing long after they have their adult plumage. It does look young though.
