Due to the numerous, spurious drivel posted on here even within the last few hours. Could there not be some kind of anti spam/troll measures taken so that if someone's had a few too many Bacardi's they cant just sign up and post at will.

You know, some kind of confirmation of you are who you say you are. And more importantly a 7 day period between singing up and posting?

Just saying. Must be a PITA for the mods.

The 7 day period sounds good. I seem to remember we had to wait for chipppps to approve us before posting

would potential trolls not just register with numerous sleeper accounts?

It wouldn't give that instant access thats available now though.
Mods could ask for a reply email address or similar in the intervening period, putting off only the hardiest/saddest of timewasters.

Perhaps a tougher question on sign up maybe are you really selling the cheapest kitchens? Or how many ales have you had under 5 over 5 or plenty?

Might be good to have a new user symbol like the P for the first 5 threads posted.

The only trolling I'm seeing on here tonight is this thread and the busy night for some thread. Unless there have been a lot of threads deleted...

Symbol is fine for nursery purposes. Thats been raised a few times. It makes sense to me. I think its cycle chat that has a 100 post policy before you can use the classifieds.

Thats an excellent idea.

The proposal remains limiting instant access to those who feel hard done-by or just downright nasty folk/timewasters.

30 day embargo before posting I say. And only replies, then, after six months you could start topics. Sorts the wheat from the chaff. 😉

Weighweenies have 25, agreed it's a good plan.
I would also encourage people to leave a note on the ad when they's bought/sold something, a kind of informal feedback system for the regulars, yo can then check history before replying to an ad.

Ok, the seller was called Neath from Bristol. I paid £230 using paypal gift.
This was last week. Now the advert has disappeared and i get no emails from him.

Can I report this to the moderators, can they get my paypal money back?

As morning here coincides with p*ssed o'clock up there in the north there has been some fairly stupid stuff including 2 porn threads PayPal troll some random weirdness and plenty of second user names. Add to that 6 cheapest kitchens in the world it's getting s bit messy. There are spamming jobs that pay about £1 for 10 posts online so it needs to be hard enough to stop them logging in. The other idiots only seem to.come out when they are off work and bored.

Not so. Genuinely constructive thread to garner opinion and start discussion about how our forum could be better served. Im not interested in baiting/big hitting keyboard warriors. 😉

And I missed it Dammit.

Personally, I think that posting about being ripped off by a stranger after using paypal gift should be a lifetime banning offence.
