So single speeders are poor and don't like girls?

Er <insert blushingicon> do they er prefer boys? (That T shirt is a bit misogynist)

Which is perfectly cool, well not cool cool but not well you know what i mean lots of boy on boy stuff in my world, so it's actually a gay thing then (can we say that)?

Its fine, so it's a club, like 'special people' they choose not to have gears and they like boys, do girls who ride with single speed only like girls, or doesn't it matter?

They like working hard and going slowly then.

Some singlespeeders are rich, some are poor.

Some like girls, some like boys. Some like both.

Some are girls, some are boys. Some are both.

They are in fact like ordinary people, except that they are better.

HTH....

Great ride and my thanks also to PaulD for leading. I was the slow one on the expensive Pace. All the gear no idea?

Hmm real? Real in a virtual sense I guess.

The person operating me is real. The bit doing the typographic representation is a computer generated personality manifested in this instance by a ridiculously good looking but ever so slightly 'slow' male model who in turn was a ficticious tale acted by somebody else for the cinema.

So real in an unreal sense.

Why?

The same reason I guess peeps ride with only one speed, a flatland affectation dahling.

They couldn't do that round here, we have proper hills.

Still? I thought that cream you got was meant to take the swelling down, and make it less hurty? 🙁

sounds like you had fun. couldn't make it due to family stuff in the am but was briefly in Swinley this afternoon on the BOB 2pm ride. Did we pass some of you on the middle section of the seagull, whippet Ben in the Mtn Trax race kit would have been up front? Unless he stood sideways in which case you'd have missed him.

next time.....

It was more awesome than Surf-Mat coated in dark chocolate....

Which, if you tried measuring on an Awesome-O-Meter™, would result in loud bangs, sparks and lots of smoke. Probbly springs and flywheels pinging off in all directions too.

Speak for yourself. 😛

Anyway, top day out. Thanks Phil for the organisation ('cos posting on the internet was hard) and PaulD for slowing down once we were all warmed up.

If anyone has a GPS track of where we went, I"d love to see it: be nice to know where all those swoopy bits are.

Tim (grey Commençal Meta, fast group)

Great day out yesterday!
Thanks Phil for getting us all together and thanks to Andy for putting together a really nice loop for us all in the slow group. There are some lovely little sections in there that I would have never found and will probably never find again.
Thanks to all for great riding company. Nice to finally put some faces to names.

Andy RT, you would be more than welcome to come to our humble little wood and sample some Alton hospitality.

Forgot to mention in my earlier post. Just as I was crossing motorway on the way home feeling very chilled looking at the low sun on a beautful day the break @ 34 sec on this tune kicked in and it sums up nicly how I felt after the ride.

That was fun, though unfeasibly hot. Good to meet a load of folk, though to be honest I still have no real idea who anyone is.

Apologies to the chap on the 853 Inbred for giving him a probably duff inner tube.....

I don't think you could rub it in more if you ambushed the 16 household armed with Swinley salve.

Seriously, I'm glad you guys had fun. 😀

chaps - I was browsing youtube vids for swinley trails last night and came across a recommendation for a mapping website that offered most of the trails marked out and named on a map of the forest.. trouble is I cant access youtube at work and I really wanted to show this map to a colleague who is riding the forest tonight. Does anyone have a clue as to which website it was that I used?

It wasnt google maps, or mapyride, something like 'mymap.com' ? 😕
You just needed to enter 'swinley' in the search bar...

there were 3 chaps in the corckscrew who were taking photos of each other, they kindly pulled off the track to let us all ride it 🙂 the only other person standing still around there was mrsconsequence who always misses it out and might have been playing on her phone whilst waiting.

😀

Shame, I tried extra hard to look slim, fast & skilled. Obviously failed on all counts, but its the thought that counts, and on second thoughts a lack of photographic evidence is a good thing!

just got back from another round, only managed to find the seagull and tank trap, got lost looking for corkscrew before it got dark.
Its great seeing random beams of light wiggling away in the distance when riding around at night.
Air temp was perfect tonight, I destroyed my riding buddy 😈

Slimjim,

Just head for Caesars camp, it's just passed there. Mail me, as I could be persuaded to do a Thursday night ride. All welcome, but if there are too many we could freak out the squirrels!

Oh, and the ninja frogs that pretend to look like fir cones

thursday may be a go'er, just need to apply for a pass..

I even took a laminated map over tonight and headed straight for Ceasar's after getting through Seagull, still got lost! ended up back at lookout but was to dark to venture on (helmet light arriving this week sometime).

must have had 20 ninja frogs jump out in front of me when heading back toward Bagshot common! they look just like fir cones...till they hop

Just wanted to say thanks to Phil for organising the ride, Paul for leading the fast group, and for all the riders who made it a most entertaining and enjoyable afternoon 8)

Still not convinced I was in the right group, 6 months off the bike wasn't necessarily the best preparation for Paul's pace and the legs were suffering towards the end 😯 😆

Cheers, Rich (riding the creaky tinbred)

My special thanks to Dez for the super pictures, and to all of you for making the day very enjoyable.
Thanks also to Stu and X for sweeping.
I will start slower next time, and hopefully it will be cooler so we can fit a bit more in...there are extra trails if you want them.
May also bring a different bike...lighter perhaps?

PaulD (Leg Collector)
