Oh yes, yes and yes again to John Martyn. Master of the echo loop.

TOGWT, the John Peel Show and Later with JH were/are all very eclectic and not fixated on one type of music, their presenters having a love of music rather than a style and not interested in trotting out record industry marketing spiel.

Saw John Martyn live a couple of times - really good. Sea Sick Steve is similar.

@rustyspanner - Little Feat are one of my favourite bands. Frank Zappa kicked Lowell George out of The Mothers of Invention for being weird!

lived in Leeds in early 80's and used to go to a 2nd hand record shop every few weeks in the Merrion Centre market - one day asked the guy behind the counter what was it they were playing - it was Little Feat, after the track finished he took the record off the turntable and gave it to me

John Martyn was immensely more talented than Seasick Sid.

The feelgoods and debbie harry - aaaaah!

Great that wilko johnson & deborah are still out there and doing well.

Saw the original feelgoods waaay back; wilko with norman watt-roy in more recent times and his 'final farewell tour' when he had an, apparently, inoperable tumour was great and emotional but then the old bugger cheated death.

Deborah Harry with the jazz messengers - they started with some noodling and improv then.....from stage left, a small blond haired woman wandered onto stage, sat on a stool, said nothing until she was introduced.
After that it was her show.

As to Nipper - nothing much wrong with 70's gold; some of it is embarassing now but much is still great. McAvoy Boogie by rory gallagher - c1972?

If you like the theme - stone fox chase - check out Mark Feltham's version (you know, the harmonica bloke from nine below zero)........

I did, a number of times. He could be patchy, though: once he was so drunk on stage he could barely perform, it was rather embarrassing. When he was on form, though, he was mesmerising.
There's a case to be made for a dedicated TOGWT channel, just playing continually everything that's still available.
I don't see a link to any of the videos with woppit on, and not knowing who it was he played with, I've got no idea where to look.

No. Lowell was into drugs, Zappa hated drugs and kicked him out eventually.

Ooh and not forgetting King Crimson featuring the brilliant Adrian Belew

And the equally brilliant, and almost impossibly cool Tony Levin, the only man to really show how to play the Chapman Stick.
I have a sneaking suspicion that might have been recorded in my home town, at a venue that sadly no longer exists; for whatever reason, I didn't get a ticket to see them. I also missed seeing The Smiths there, and The Waterboys.
I could kick myself!
Tina is ace!

The whole band were, but I know what you mean, she's so intense!
I saw them on the '77 tour, with Dire Straits supporting! Played Swindon Oasis.
Great to see that SAHB performance, Zal and Chris doing their tippy-toe thing behind Alex has always stuck in my mind, so funny!

Not the best quality but a snippet of one of the most underrated bands ever.
Neither Big Country or The Armoury Show realised the potential that The Skids were promising.
The Absolute Game is one of those albums that has never been far away from turntable since it's release.
