I think you're confusing it with Enterprise.

RTD is returning as showrunner.

Hell yes!

I was treating the Olly Alexander rumours as nonsense, but I can see him bringing him onboard.

I hadn't made that connection but yes, he's surely a shoe-in now.

(is it "shoe-in" or shoo-in"? Hmm...)

This thread was worth resurrecting if only to read Cougar's tirade on the previous page and, in particular, the cosplaying footballer reference.

Brilliant 🙂

This thread was worth resurrecting if only to read Cougar’s tirade on the previous page and, in particular, the cosplaying footballer reference.

But for the love of Skywalker, if there’s a discussion going on that you have no interest in, just scroll on by. You don’t need to be here, you don’t need to be a part of it. You don’t need to be sitting there taking the piss. Other threads are available. Other forums are available. Other hobbies are available.

Go read / do something you like. Let everyone else enjoy their things.

Absobloodylutly! I’d sort of skipped over this thread, then I noticed it had popped back onto the first page, sort of read a bit of page three and thought, hang on, have I missed something?
Did I ever! Thank you Cougar, that was a spectacular, heart-felt rant, and I applaud every word, I’ve felt that way for probably longer than you have, but never been able to express my feelings, now you’ve done it in a truly exemplary fashion.
Thank you, and bless you!

Quite liked Dr Who on a Saturday evening but the recent series with Jodie and Bradley have been poor imo; I don’t bother watching anymore.

Unless they change something I can’t see it lasting much longer.

Would watching the Sylvester McCoy episodes make the recent ones better?

Thank you Cougar, that was a spectacular, heart-felt rant,

Sorry. I was a bit vexed, I've been carrying this for a while. I've been on the receiving end for a long time and it clipped a nerve.

Point is, it's OK to like things. You might like Doctor Who, or football, or trains, or coins, or Rick & Morty, or cooking, or space travel, or camping, or WWII, or Portugal. But ragging on someone else's nerdery because it's different from your nerdery isn't cool.

Aged 13 I took the beatings (when they could catch me), aged 49 and armed with a keyboard and a hot sweaty Internet connection they're gonna have a fight on their hands. I can finally rage impotently against injustice without fear of getting stuffed in a bin and hoofed down the hill.

Also,

If you've attended two football matches a week for the last 25 years,

You're a ****ing nerd, just in a different discipline. Sorry.

Mate of mine recently got his name etched on a plaque under his season ticket seat at Old Trafford. Which is brilliant, I'm stoked for him, that must be an amazing thing. But he immediately waives any right to give me shit for watching Star Trek reruns.

Unless you’re just watching that Enterprise shower scene over and over… you deserve a bit of joshing then.
