I can see what you mean Cynical-al- thats why I say its 'sublime' I guess.

I just laughed out loud- I've not done that for a while with comedy.

Yep. There are a lot of very geeky references in the background props in the office. Stickers, books, bit of old hardware etc

The IT Crowd

The Inbetweeners

I have only ever managed to catch the odd episode here and there of either and I really must watch them properly as they are superbly funny.

Excellent show. The Countdown episode.... I was in tears of laughter first time I saw it.

Unfortunately it's spawned a generation of computer nerds who believe pretending to be Moss is somehow funny.

The one where the boss falls in love with a women who used to be a man had me in stitches.

Channel 4 produces some great comedy, Black Books being another favourite.

it basically is a mirror for my working life about 3 years ago. working for a strange company ran by a complete idiot, sat in a grimy room with no windows (not quite the basement but near enough) right next to the server room, and a woman manager who had no idea about "computors".
and yes, i'm pretty socially inept.

It can be hit and miss, it veers a little to close to embarrassment comedy for my liking sometimes. You know, the Terry and June "whoops, my trousers have fallen down and the vicar's at the door!" sort of schtick. But yeah, on the whole it's very good.

Can I also recommend The Big Bang Theory?

Big Bang is ok - got the boxset but they can still have moments of genius.

Oh no not the flesh eating Morlocks!

Talking Spock/mint in box - darn two suns and I didn't bring my sunscreen

Sublime genius ๐Ÿ˜€

Great series. Think my favourite episode is the one where Jen has a new boyfirend who takes her to the Theatre to watch Gay, the musical.

Yeah I'm a fan though I don't really find the internet box thing as funny as others seem to - mainly as even my Mum wouldn't think it was in a box....

Countdown ep is good but maybe the dinner party is my fave.

I vote against here (boooo) ๐Ÿ™

i really wanted to like it, it even had chris morris in but it seemed to be written and set-designed by arty types who have never been near a real office, ever. It seems really broad brush and misses loads of material about the subtlties and absurdities of office life.

Except the internet in a box thing, that was good. ๐Ÿ™‚

IT crowd is pretty decent, BBT has it's moments.

The only 2 series that are ALWAYS funny are The Inbetweeners and the cult classic that is Trailer Park Boys.

I'd go as far as saying that Trailer Park Boys is one of the funniest things ever made.

I love it.

I think my favourite is where Roy is asked to photograph a calendar of the girls from the seventh floor.

My favourite bit is the fist-bump between Roy and Moss as the conference room descends into chaos as someone smashes the Internet box.
Laughed outloud, loudly on a flight back from China at that. Then had fit of giggles.
That whole episode is brilliant.

Wacko - Trailer Park Boys is indeed one of the funniest things ever made, it's perfect in every way.

It's Always Sunny in Philadephia is great too, especially when Danny DeVito turns up.

IT crowd is ok, but my God, Big Bang Theory is proper atrocious US comedy, for those who like Friends and need to be told when to laugh.

I'm seeing a girl who has the exact same voice. And hair. Looks a bit like her too.

Comes in very handy.

Not into it. It's funny tho how, Richard Ayodae who is irritatingly terrible in this has blossomed into a talented film writer & director. Yet Chris Odowd who is quite funny in this has become an annoying ubiquitous sell out unfunny ****.
