Just watching the restored print of John Noel's film record on BBC4.
An amazing and very moving film, only ever seen clips before.
Catch it on the iPlayer if you get the chance - well worth it.
Fascinated by this expedition since I was a kid - a part of me is still hoping that Sandy Irvine will be found.
And if he still has his camera with him......

Amazing and haunting at the same time.... .Worth a watch. 🙂
It is an amazing film. The long lingering shots, giving you time to look at the scenery, so different from today's films. The music by Simon Turner also works really well with the film.
I thought it was a good film,as mentioned above,it's very different compared to a modern film,glad I watched it.
Was good that. Relaxing as well as interesting. The Great White Silence is worth looking up too, same style restoration of film from the 1910 Antartic expedition. Saw it at a local arty cinema a while back, amusing to hear how many people dozed off within 30 mins : )
