Yup, no coffee for six weeks.  Already got some South American beans ready to grind in the morning, and will have a hot strong dark beverage at breakfast followed by the inevitable reading of the news on the throne.

Oh yes...

You do know that Sundays don't count in the whole giving up thing?

Edit

"Since all Sundays—and not simply Easter Sunday—were days to celebrate Christ's Resurrection, Christians were forbidden to fast and do other forms of penance on those days. Therefore, when the Church expanded the period of fasting and prayer in preparation for Easter from a few days to 40 days (to mirror Christ's fasting in the desert, before He began His public ministry), Sundays could not be included in the count."

Yep, nailed it.

Didn't convert to Catholicism once over the last six weeks.

Target achieved

Gave up smoking, stuck with it and won't be starting again. Still drank like a fish mind..

I don't follow the teachings of Cathol either but it seemed like a good challenge.

Speak for yourself, Kryton57. Some of us are on the Julian Calendar.

Another week to go.

The only fast thing that Lent makes me think of is Mike Hall.
