I've been told that two telegraph poles on my land are being replaced in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure they're much good for burning but could be handy for building a log store, etc.
If I ask for the old poles what are the chances they'll let me have them?

Ask the workmen. I've got a nice tiled roof on my gymshed thanks to my Mrs wiggling her chest at some roofers. Tea and biscuits might be an alternative to wiggling.

Do you rent your misses out out? Reason I ask is that my roof is a bit leaky and if she can get this repaired FOC by wiggling her boobs, I'd be happy to pay your modest "fee" 😈

A friend of mine fits and replaces telegraph poles.
It's not uncommon for the old ones not to make it back to the depot. 😉
It's definitely worth asking the guys doing the work.

And there was me hoping for some give it to me with your telegraph pole type innuendo. Today is just full of disappointments !

I was going to say a friend of mine erects telegraph poles, but I was trying to avoid the inevitable innuendos.

What, like: man walks into a bar and asks for a telegraph pole, so I gave him one ?

More like a wet donkey jacket apparently. So I've heard like.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother asking questions on here! 🙂

Well it's not for the correct answer, is it 🙂

I reckon if you offer the pole erectors a cup of tea, they'll be happy to leave the old ones behind.

IGMC

Anyone help me out? I have:

Inspector General of the Marine Corps
Institute of Geotechnical Engineering and Mine Surveying, Clausthal
Integrated Grain and Milling Company

Suspect it's something else, IMO I'll probably LMAO when I find out.

Sharkbait - I've got a telegraph pole in our garden you could have - it just needs taking down - it's not connected to anything and a bit wobbly

Thanks, and I did watch the Fast Show, he always said it in long-hand IIRC.
