Taking the wife and kids (10 and 7) to Dublin next weekend. Staying in Parnell Street north of the river.
Are there are any good kid friendly traditional pubs where we grab some food and a couple of pints and there might be some music on? Not saying we are in the pubs after 9 but just trying to give the kids a flavour of Dublin nightlife / atmosphere.

Not music, although that'll be on downstairs, but we went here on a work trip and heard stories of folklore and fairies over dinner that were amazing!

They have a kids menu so assume they cater for youngers as well!

Cheers Jon, nice one. Was the food any good?
Anyone else any suggestions?

Standard fare, irish stew, etc. It's not Michelin star but it's perfectly edible and if you're there for Irish stories what else would you have!

Kids are on their jollies too - staying up late is part of the fun.

A lot cheesy - Jonny Foxes is irish turned up to 11.

Merry Ploughboy is another.

I had a company do at the guiness store house last week (highly recommend the tour) and ended up in 37 Dawson Street. Nice place from what I remember but it was 12am so no idea what it is like early doors.

I always liked a pint in The Long Stone - you could check their Facebook page to see if there's music playing.

Nice one, thanks folks - both The Long Stone and 37 Dawson Street are looking handy, so we'll check them out. Much appreciated!
