So vettel has to make a racing pass. So far he's whittled about his front wing and run off.
Interested to see if he can do it in the race rather than pits
Having just watched Bathurst, I'm going to be the first to say that this is as boring as watching paint dry.
.
Don't know if its been said before but F1 is as boring as watching paint dry...
The worst Motorsport ever. I'd rather watch footage from a Hyundai corporate trackday.
Yet you all feel interested enough in it to comment.
What motivates you to be negative?

The fact that I am usually entertained by it, but I'm afraid of the two motor races I've watched today, this is a very poor second to the Bathurst 1000. And I should add I usually have a fairly dim view of the V8s.
Looking forward to the turbos?
Looking forward to the turbos?
Sorry - I meant the V8 'Supercars' (chavved up saloon cars).
Turbos wont change anything will be just as dull as ever. Getting rid of down force but keeping the power would make it interesting.

I think you mean V8 bumper cars, not trolling don't report me to the mods
I think you mean V8 bumper cars,
Pretty much. Tbh I don't usually pay much interest, but Bathurst is a pretty special circuit, and F1 could and should be a much more engaging than it is.
its an odd sport tbh when the reality is what matters most is what car you drive rather than who is the fastest/best driver
Pit stops and tyre management probably matter more than innate talent as well
It does seem, as has always been the case to be fair, that it is simply an engineering advantage he has rather than a skill one though the "traction control" will be within the rules [ he is obviously a very talented driver but not this talented]
I am not sure why anyone wants to watch him cruise to a victory at each "race" wondering who will get a puncture
If it bores you don't watch it! Great race today can't wait for Vettel to wrap it up in India.
if the comments bore you dont respond 😉
Loving this season. Pity about tyre conservation mid-race, but otherwise it's still great to watch.
Sky coverage is head and shoulders over BBC, but still wished they'd (BBC) kept exclusive rights to show every race.
Neeeeeeeooooooowwwwwww!
*heads off to start practising for India on F12013*
Rallycross with the old GroupB cars was the height of motorsport for me. It seems that who ever has the best designer Cough( Adrian Newey ) will win the championship.
Anybody else sense a bit of friction between EJ and SP? What a crap pair they make, both winging it and waffling whilst Coulthard looks on somewhat bemused.... The best bit about the BBC's coverage is Gary Anderson and David Coulthard. The commentary is OK, though not as good as Brundle's.
Just watched on iPlayer. Formula 1's a great sport, hence the popularity. If it's only about the car, them why is it Vettel that's always winning and not Webber? And how does Alonso manage to punch so far above his weight?
If its not about the car why are Vettel and Alonso not racing each other?
If they swapped cars what do you reckon would happen in terms of results?
Ah, I see what you mean. It's both, it's the cars AND the drivers. As well as that the teams behind the drivers play a great part as well because there is a lot of strategy involved.

Probably something to do with his engine sounding completely different to Webber's...
It's all a load of crap, just a giant advertising circus. Too much aero for close racing, tracks with endless run-off/zero consequence. If you want real racing watch Caterhams or Porsche Supercup.
I was a huge fan but really have lost interest over the past few years. The Aerodynamics really is ruining the sport, and that is a technology that has not really got any relevance to road cars and just massively increases the R&D cost of the sport which is really squeezing the independents - the very teams that made F1. The changes that need to be made are actually not that great - just reduce Aero and increase tyre size and bang - you've got a sport that will rely more on the driver skill and less on the aero.
I have no doubt about the drivers skills. After-all, in order to get to F1 they've had to prove themselves in lower tech lower formula's, but as a spectator you just don't get to see it wihtout the four wheel drifting and obvious driver input into the process. Its proceduralised driving rather than seat of their pants - Go round this corner at x revs in y gear, brake at this point, change gear here....The drivers are really just following a set of instructions now, and the racing is done from the pits by the statisticians and strategists. Its motorsport, but not F1.

Mmm - Wettel is the best driver of his generation, as was Schumacher and Senna before him. The fastest drivers get the fastest cars - simples!
Mark Weber looked a bit grumpy today.
Agree with Wobbliscott
watched the start and few laps got bored so started a beer mashing
came back and saw the end few laps
Fingerboy yet again wins and webber gets screwed over again by RBR
Hope he reveals all when he writes the book

This. Today's race was a an attempt to cover this up. Vettell making the odd "mistake", and looking almost lacsidasical from the cockpit cam at times yet somehow able to catch and pass Grosjean at will within a few laps? C'mon, something's up.

Not so sure as Hamilton and Alonso are no slouches and I am not sure Vettel would have 4 back to back if they all drove a Red Bull are you really certain? Is anyone? His record is as it is as much due to the team he drives for as his immense talent.
I've been a fan of F1 most of my life but I don't watch it any more. Which is a shame, really. It seems to me that big F1 fans don't really care that there's very little overtaking, or that Vettel has the best car, as they are into the whole thing, and can get all juicy on the tech/tyres/politics/spectacle.
I once asked my brother (big fan) why he still likes F1 when there isn't (much) overtaking and he just said "I'm a fan of F1, that's all there is to it. You either are or you aren't". Fair play. Sounds like the TV marketing machine working at its best though to me (like football).
